Re: Tearz49ers Presents: Our City. Our State (CFB Revamped)

COLLEGE STATION, Texas -- Everything, and or anything that could have gone wrong for Vanderbilt today on their travels to Kyle Field just about did as the Commodores were manhandled by No. 3 Texas A&M 41-14. Ken Seals, who threw three interceptions was benched just one possession into the second half and replaced by Mike Wright, who lasted just two possessions himself before being benched in favor of Seals, in what was a pretty embarrassing day for Clark Lea and his coaching staff.
The Aggies, led by redshirt-freshman quarterback Haynes King were far superior on both sides of the ball. King, who took home player of the game honors torched a depleted Commodores defensive backfield who were missing cornerback Jaylen Mahoney for 364-yards and three touchdowns. He also rushed for a touchdown in the second quarter. On the ground, Isaiah Spiller added more salt into an already wide-open wound with 112-yards and a touchdown on 26 carries.
The Aggies secondary had a field day out there today with Erick Young, Antonio Johnson, and Jaylon Jones all picking off Seals, all three were either underthrown or overthrown passes.
"I have never been involved in a game like that," Lea said after the game. "A game where the offense was about as bad as it gets, and the defense was all at sixes and sevens and couldn't cover anything, couldn't wrap up tackles and pretty much rolled over and wanted their bellies scratched."
Seals, as we already know found himself benched just one possession after returning from half-time. The sophomore had already thrown a measly 96-yards and two interceptions in the first half before returning after half-time and throwing his third pick of the day on the Commodore's first offensive possession of the second half. However, Seals did get some late redemption when he found Devin Boddie Jr. for a 14-yard touchdown pass but by that time the game was already done. Ken Seals finished 12-of-16 passing for 182-yards, 1 touchdown, and 3 interceptions. Re'Mahn Davis struggled behind a restructured offensive line, which will have to be changed around again going into next week's game against ETSU with the injury to tackle Jonathan Stewart. Davis rushed for just 52-yards and a touchdown on 17 carries (3.0 yards per carrying).
Although, Vanderbilt's defense registered its first takeaway of the season through an Allan George interception that was about the only highlight today. The unit as a whole gave up 24 first downs and allowed 554-yards of offense to the Aggies, they also allowed Haynes King and his offense to control the majority portion of the possession (18:15 to 13:45).
Next week, Vanderbilt 1-2 (0-2) plays host to FCS opponent ETSU out of the SoCon division. The Buccaneers come into the game 2-1 after wins over UVA and Delaware State, their only loss came to Samford.

Re'Mahn Davis opens the scoring on this 5-yard run.
Isaiah Spiller makes it all square in the second quarter.
Antonio Johnson makes the first of three picks on Ken Seals.
Vanderbilt are left to pay when they leave Ainias Smith wide open.
Like Smith, Chase Lane is wide open in the endzone.
