Austin, Texas -- Texas did to #11 Georgia, what the Bulldogs have been doing to teams for the last two seasons. The Longhorn's defense stifled the Georgia offense by moving around players causing confusion amongst the Bulldogs offense.

You might look at the statistics and think how? Georgia's offense put up 467-yards of total offense and 31 points but it was the number of times the Longhorns defense was in the Georgia backfield with eleven tackles for losses. Omari Abor, Vernon Brouhgton and Ernest Cooper IV all laid punishing hits on Georgia quarterback Arch Manning, none more important though that Cooper's which came on fourth down, in the fourth quarter with 1:28 left on the clock and Georgia in position to sneak a victory.

"We played more physical than they did. " Texas defensive coordinator Andy Avalos said after the game. "You could see on their faces that every time they took a hit from one of our boys it hurt them. The defense made so many key plays today, we forced them into so many situations where they were third and long, you could see they didn't like that at all."

Arch Manning won't forget his first career game in Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium anytime soon. The former Isidore Newman quarterback and No.1 overall prospect chose Georgia over Texas on signing day two years ago and the now redshirt freshman got to know the Longhorns pretty quickly. Travis Hunter who was dotted up in the early part of the third quarter by Arch Manning for a 55-yard touchdown would go on to get the last laugh late in the same quarter joining Terrance Brooks as the two Longhorns cornerbacks who took Manning's passes back for touchdowns.

"You don't come into our house and get to play pretty football," Hunter said. "There is no questioning his talent, he got the better of me early but I showed him you don't get to do that to me twice in a game."

Cade Klubnik bounced back from a tough game against LSU last week. The junior quarterback had been subjected to questions all week about the potential of losing his starting position to Hudson Card should he have another lackluster performance but he answered his critics when it mattered the most. Klubnik found true freshman Xander Weems twice for touchdowns and the tight end now has eight touchdown receptions on the year. Klubnik finished the game 17-of-25 passing for 204-yards, two touchdowns, and an interception. Le'Veon Moss made some crucial plays in the fourth quarter and his longest run of 32-yards on third down meant the Longhorns could strip important time off the clock. Moss would go on to rush for 97-yards and a touchdown on 18 carries.

The Takeaway: The three sacks on Arch Manning today gives the Longhorns sixteen total sacks on the year. Only Georgia Tech and Iowa (17) have more in all of college football.

Next week, it's the big one as #19 Texas (4-1, 4-1) takes on #10 Oklahoma (3-1, 3-1) in the Red River Rivalry. The Longhorns haven't beaten Oklahoma since in the last two seasons and have been outscored 84-27 in the last two games. The Sooners come into the game rested after their shocking 32-38 loss to Arkansas two weeks ago

Texas | Majors out of Oklahoma game

The Longhorns will be without starting center Jake Majors for this weekend's Red River game against #10 Oklahoma. This will be a big blow for the Longhorns with Majors being the most senior offensive lineman. So far this season, Majors has 8 pancakes with 0 sacks given up.

Majors will miss the game with a calf muscle strain he picked up in the win over Georgia this past Saturday evening. Majors will be replaced by fellow senior Hayden Conner who will move inside a little further from his normal guard position.

"It's a big blow," Texas head coach Russell Warner said after practice today. "You can't just replace someone of Jake's stature easily and for what is the biggest game of the season so far."

Texas | Longhorns play host to six recruits

Texas will welcome four stars Doug Gudino (C), Isaiah Milton (T), Daniel Ogletree (WR), Ladarius Turrentine (TE), Leonard Neal (ATH) and, three-star Kadas Cornelius (G) for this weekend's showdown with Oklahoma.

AUSTIN, Texas -- The Texas Longhorns 2025 recruiting class is finally starting to take shape as Russell Warner secured his third recruit with the signing of four-star athlete Jaleel Solomon.

Solomon chose Texas over finalists Florida State, LSU, and Ohio State.

A 6'4, 223-pounder, Solomon picked up his offer from Texas in late February while contact seemed to decrease between the two sides during the summer, it picked up again at the start of this season with Solomon taking an official visit to the Forty Acres for the most recent win over Georgia.

Solomon, a Colonial Heights, VA native has the build of a wide receiver but plays like a tight end, and has lined up in both positions under Kyle Krupp at Colonial Heights High School. Along with that the four-star also has talent at the running back position but it is expected that he will play receiver at Texas.

"No better place to start all over again." Solomon took to Twitter to announce his commitment. "Austin, Texas baby. Fight On!!!"

With Texas set to lose Kelvontay Dixon and Troy Omeire at the end of this season, we expect Solomon to do well on campus and compete for a role in the Longhorns offense next season. He is ranked as the No. 37 overall prospect according to 247Sports and the nation's No. 4 ranked athlete.

Solomon is an exciting prospect with bags athleticism, it would be a scary thought should the Texas coaching staff see value in him at the tight end position, over the receiver, think Vernon Davis. He runs a 4.42 40-time and has the hands to match his speed.

"Texas has secured a talent, all be it raw at several positions there is no denying his footballing ability," said Steve Wiltfong, 247Sports' director of scouting. "I think he's a transcendent talent with key attributes that will help his team towards a national championship. In today's game, where athleticism and speed kill at any position you have a player like Jaleel who has bags of both."

With Solomon now in tow, it means head coach Russell Warner now has his third commitment of the 2025 recruiting class joining Naeem Philips and Jay Boozer.

Dallas, Texas -- Caleb Williams passed for five touchdowns before sitting out the fourth quarter. True freshman Austin Hayes Jr. ran for 94-yards and two scores and the 10th ranked Oklahoma Sooners annihilated the 19th ranked Texas Longhorns 51-14, at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas.

The 51-14 victory is the biggest score deficit between the two schools since 2011 when again the Sooners beat the Longhorns 55-17.

Williams completed 17-of-21 passes for 253-yards without a single mistake for the Sooners (4-1, 4-1). The Sooners have now won three Red River Showdowns on the bounce and outscored the Longhorns 135-41 along the way.

"We just played really well," Williams said. "We're capable of doing that all the time if people are going to play hard and people are going to play smart. We're just capable of doing a lot of different things."

Marcus Major carried the ball 16 times for 79-yards for Oklahoma, which racked up 212 yards on the ground, and both Jalil Farooq and Cody Jackson caught multiple touchdowns, with Major himself on hand for Williams fifth touchdown pass of the day.

"I want to congratulate Oklahoma," Texas coach Russell Warner said. "We had some guys play well, but we didn't play well as a team. I thought they out-coached us. I thought they out-hit us and they were more physical than we were. It was embarrassing for our fans once again and it really showed how far apart we are as programs."

Texas benched Cade Klubnik in the third quarter in favor of Hudson Card and rightly so, Klubnik had just thrown his second interception of the game right into the hands of Sooners cornerback Kendall Dennis and the Longhorns were down 41-0 and looked like being shutout by the Sooners. Card came into the game and gave the Longhorns offense a small spark but I don't think it was enough to cause a quarterback controversy going into next week's game against South Carolina. Hudson Card did save Texas's blushes with a 2-yard touchdown run with 3:16 left in the fourth quarter, before Le'Veon Moss added a second but let's not forget this was against Oklahomas second-team defense.

The Takeaway: The turnovers by Klubnik are troubling for the Sooners, the junior has now thrown for 9 interceptions on the season. Klubnik even took points off the board in the second quarter when he missed a wide-open Yardley Gibson and instead tried to sneak the ball in to Xander Weems and was picked off by Bryson Washington Jr..

Next week, Texas (4-2, 4-2) takes to the road to face off against South Carolina (2-3, 1-2). The Gamecocks shook off a three-game losing streak today with a 30-28 win over Kentucky.
