I think the best way to get started is to get the demo and follow the in-game tutorials. I wish they were as deep as they are now when I first got into the game. That will almost certainly lead to a purchase when they cut you off just when you're really getting into your save, lol. Once you have a feel for the game and narrow down what exactly you need help with, you can go to the various community sites out there.
