Football Manager 2015 News & Discussion Thread

It's time to start the news and discussion thread for the new version of FM, which was officially announced today.

FM 14 had a terrible match engine to start, but then that got fixed, so I'm hoping FM 15 will avoid that mistake.

From memory, there's a few places where you can get 15-20% off at launch.

Skipped out on FM 13 & 14 so I think it is time to come back around with this installment.

Re: Football Manager 2015 News & Discussion Thread

Started playing FM in 12 and have bought every version since, but my initial thinking is I won't be buying this one, at least not immediately. I'm really enjoying 14 and the user data updates for it are amazing, and I'm happy with my real-time day-to-day save progress.

Saying that, I'd like the next version of FM to have a better AI for other clubs buying your players. I can barely sell anybody on my Champions League finalist Ajax team, where as in real life, I would be flooded with offers after this achievement.

And I'd love to see some more advanced statistics used than what is currently on offer. Things like attacking third passes, where passes were received and analysis of build ups to goals. Seeing these types of patterns in play on a chart would really help influence my team plays or how I want my team to play, and preparing for upcoming opposition, would be fantastic. Hell, I'd change my mind and buy FM15 on day one just for that.

It's more polished in terms of user interface and just as deep in terms of management. If you like those games and soccer, you'll absolutely love FM.

I really hope that FM 15 removes the EA FIFA elements from the match engine, you know where your teammates aren't actually ever trying to help you, they're just there because they're required to be.

I do wish there was a little more creativity between teammates in FM.

Maybe I just don't have my tactics set up correctly, but I don't see very many quick one-twos, or anything like that.

I'd like to see multiple cards. You never see two players carded at the same time.

Finally doing something with scouting. It had gotten really clunky to see what your scouts had already done and what they were doing in 14. I honestly would just let my chief scout set up the assignments.
