    Pitching/Hitting Clutch Attributes

I feel like we’re leaving a lot on the table with these two attributes. It would be a great addition to the game if the 7th, 8th, and 9th innings of close games (3 run lead or less) if pitching and hitting clutch took the place of contact & H/9. Maybe just the 8th and 9th even?
Make those setup guys matter a little more and force us to find a guy who can hold it down … in the clutch … literally.

Teams irl are building the back ends of their bullpens so heavily these days and we’ve seen how important 7th, 8th, and 9th inning guys have become to playoff teams. Just wish we could make the clutch attribute matter a little more than just RISP throughout the game.

    Thoughts?

Definitely agree. Pinch hit situations is another example. Tbh I hate how they replace contact rating with clutch though. It should only be used if at all in innings 7-9 if the score differential is 3 or less. A RBI single with 0-0 score in the 3rd inning is hardly clutch.

Yeah I think I agree. Leadoff double in the first and a leadoff double in the 9th are treated the same and that doesn’t sit right with me.

Simply go the high heat baseball ratings…they did it right.

I wish it was more of a spectrum then direct ratings

          for example:

          RH:
          75 Con
          75 Pow

          LH:
          30 Con
          30 Pow

          Clutch:
          90

instead of it being an outright replacement of contact in the RISP situations it should raise it by a certain amount. in the current iteration with the example above, the player would instantly become a good contact hitter against a LHP just because there are RISP. It should work on some type of scale (100 clutch raises contact by 50 points or something.. idk the exact scale) but that would it would be preportional to their actual stats.

I think power should also work similarly.. the individual attributes per side should really handle to total amount of power but if it was 90 RH and 30 LH then you should still be able to generate some decent power occasionally if you really square up a ball. it's not like these guys actually get weaker depending on the pitcher

Thats interesting. I always assumed it worked similar to the way you say it should work. I didnt know the clutch attribute just overode the other attribute when with RISP.

100% agree with this as well. Hate that it completely replaces their contact attribute like you said. It should definitely be on some type of multiplier.

Would also like to add/wonder why pitchers don’t have vsLHH and vsRHH attributes. They’re there for hitters and should be for pitchers as well. Would add some depth to the attribute system and more to the chess game of bringing in a specialist.
