Well, some of that also seems like it would be largely foundational (as I expect most of the year one implementation will be...remember, they are not only trying to set up their entire run on a generation of consoles, but also not step back feature-wise as well) to make future add-ons/adjustments easier to implement.
Plus, from the interview and write up earlier, it sounds like they main thing with the rebuild was the base physics and geometry of the stadiums-importing more 3 dimensional surfaces for more realistic structure and interaction, etc. That's not something that's going to show up very well in still shots (especially the zoomed out ones you posted).
In fact, just from similarly comparing console games to PC for so many years, the kind of differences I expect we'll see from PS3 to PS4 in general won't really jump out as significant or "wow worthy" until we see it in motion anyway (which, unfortunately, I'm thinking could be awhile if the game isn't releasing until whenever in May).
