This game's trade logic is severely flawed, as it has been since the series' inception. For example, I was able to get Dominic Brown, Chase Utley, and Ryan Howard in exchange for a C potential relief pitching prospect.

I traded Fernando Rodney for Matt Holliday, a 81 rated B potential pitching prospect, and Randy Choate.

I traded Cano for Puig and Ryu..... that is probably not as ridiculous as the others, but it is close.

As you see, I am the Mariners right now. I was able to fleece the Phillies for the same group of players when I tried out a Giants franchise, also.

These are just some examples of how terrible the trade logic is. It ALMOST ruins the game for me. It is sad, because the game is otherwise the best sports sim I've ever seen on a console. I struggle with it, because what good GM wouldn't make those moves if he could? Therefore, I take advantage of the computer and make the trades and just live with it.

Still, there has to be a way to fix the logic. Madden, a franchise that has gotten farther and farther away from realism, has better trade logic than The Show. NBA 2k14 has pretty good trade logic as well.

I'm not saying it has to be perfect, but don't let me turn the Mariners lineup into murderer's row in a month. My current lineup vs RHP

I agree. If you know the trade logic is broken and you hate that you can make unrealistic trades, then don't make those trades. Make sure you make trades that are more realistic.

I agree with you completely. If you feel like your getting a player for a steal then add a couple of more players to even it out. The logic is still a bit flawed but I've seen a lot more trades involving several prospects for one big name player which is an improvement. The main flaw IMO is when teams that are in a playoff hunt trade their top starter or top position player which really shouldn't happen.

Not entirely sure why SCEA weight RPs so highly in trades. I see many times at the trade deadline, teams will offer RPs for the opposing team's best prospects...and it goes through.

Stupid question: Does the CPU ever reject trades from other CPU teams? That would be a cool thing to track during the year if it's not already in place...at least in my opinion.

I've noticed this as well. The Dodgers and Orioles made an interesting exchange in my franchise. The Orioles traded Evan Meek for Julio Urias, Corey Seger and another prospect. I quickly undid that.

They do. I've seen a couple of decent trade offers that I've let go through and they ended up rejected.

Yeah, I see this quite a lot. But if we learned anything from the Astros leak this past week, ridiculous trades offers will be made IRL...just wish the CPU would reject more of them.

I understand there to be a difference in the trade logic between online and offline franchises. Anybody doing an online franchise care to comment on how that logic is performing?

it's to the point where I don't care anymore. as long as trout, harper and miggy don't get traded, I don't care what happens.

There is no doubt the trade logic along with franchise(offline) it self could most definitely use some much needed attention!!!

Bad trade and team building logic is holding back the game for me. As an RTTS player, I have no control over the team I'm on but I'm also stuck there for 6-9 years. When that team trades off all their top prospects for relief pitchers, I tend to get angry. When they get two great center fielders and then bench one instead of using that guy at LF/RF or DH, I want to tear my hair out. And when the team flat out releases other top prospects in the offseason for no reason, I just groan, shake my head and look for another game to play.

I love this game and, being a programmer myself, I know that sometimes these things can be difficult to fix. I just hate to see the same issues popping up every year. I guess it's not considered a priority but it really should be.

I am giving them another shot next year. I will be purchasing MLB 15. As I look around Madden & NBA stunners for the PS4 during its first integration either. I am sure SCEA are working next year title and we wont even recognize it...

It's funny because the unrealistic prospect trading that we hate the CPU for, I see a majority of people trading for just making it more "fair".

Maybe I'm viewing it wrong. Either way I'm having fun controlling one team and seeing the moves the CPU makes. If I don't agree I can back out and reload my chise.

In my offline franchise just 23 games the Phillies did a salary dump trade. They traded SP C. Hamels to the Blue Jays for three players. Bautista or Encarncion was not included. The Phillies are 10 plus games back of first. They moved SP Petitbone to the MLB #5 spot.
