    All Star Game Logic Flawed?

I just played the All-Star Game and noticed that the cpu never subbed out his position players. Now granted, I did take over the AL long enough in the 8th to make subs myself, so I'm not sure if the cpu would've eventually made subs or not.

But in year's past the cpu would typically make changes come the 6th inning or thereabouts.

Has anyone else played the All-Star Game? Did the cpu make subs to positional players in your experience?

They don't sub them in ST games either, just the Ps.

Now that you mention it, you're right. I remember during ST subbing players for the AI because he wouldn't make positional changes.

While its not that big of a deal considering its only one game (well three if you play the All-star games) and you can make the changes yourself, I hope this gets addressed via a patch.

The All Star game is flawed in multiple ways. In my franchise Darwin Barney made the all star game (.230 with less than 10 homers)

Paul Goldschmidt was top 5 in RBI's and hitting around .312 at this point. So what the hell made them think Darwin Barney should have been an all star?

I've noticed for years that a guy with high steal totals get a lot of all star votes.

I can only guess that the Cubs are having a horrific season and that's their best player so the CPU selected him to go representing the Cubs. That still sounds like a longshot and more a error of some sort.

This games CPU are prone to making incredibly careless decisions during Spring Training games and apparently also the ASG. It's like they didn't even bother tuning it for the games purpose one lick. It never has been done appropriately in the past but I have still never seen it this bad. In the past ST and ASG games would sub cpu players in mass by the 7th inning. Now it's not done at all as if it's oblivious to the mode they are in. I don't get why it's so flawed in this way especially on a next gen game???

I played the All Star Game a few weeks ago and Pedro Florimon of the Twins was an All Star, with a batting average of .198. And the Twins still had Glen Perkins in the All Star Game, too.

For him and Barney.. How was their fielding? If their fielding's up there.. Maybe that's what they were looking at as well?

He could be the best defensive player in history but .198 you shouldn't get in..

Re: All Star Game Logic Flawed?

In my RTTS i've played the all star game 6 times and each time i played all 9 innings without getting subbed and one time it went to extras and i played 11 innings.

So it seems like they don't do any substitutions in the all star game this year.

Hey I was wondering if anyone has encounters a issue where you could NOT play your all star game even though you were voted in? Like I get 500pts for the game but it never even gave me an option to play it it just simmed right over it to the next regular season game.

It means they didn't sub you in, because for whatever reason this year, the starters play the whole game

I've played in a few ASGs. In one, I was subbed out in the 5th inning after a double for the other catcher...guessing that was due to the St. Louis manager wanting his catcher to play in the game. Another time, I played the entire 13 innings (played on Boston and Boston's manager was the AL manager). The other times, I've come out in the 8th or 9th, sometimes depending on my play (one playthrough was 0-3 and got PH for in the 8th, another playthrough was 3-4 with a HR and 2 2Bs and there was no PH for this one).

So with how I've experienced them, there can be an opportunity for some subs but not like the normal subbing one would see during the game.
