Sony San Diego hates that it's so simple when it's really so easy!!
It's all in the animations from this point on. The game plays & looks great.. MAKE THEM MOVE RIGHT!!! That's what's missing.

Not many (and no one in this thread) remember the game as a whole fondly at all.

      Just certain aspects of it.

Wow, can't believe that most don't expect more from their games.
Good things come from all over the place. Combine everything and you have a hit.

Real life player movements & signature batting animations for the starting 9 batters of each team.
They were on the right track in 09.. then stopped abruptly in The Show 12.

Like I mentioned before. The Show 11 was the last yr they had a lot of batters complete at-bat animations, especially Ryan Howards. This goes for every batter.. they are not so authentic anymore.

Seriously. I'd volunteer to fly out to San Diego to help them mocap anyone's stance or wind-up. To give 2K credit, they managed to recreate almost everyone's signature anything (stance, wind-up, at-bat rituals). Still to this day, The Show's pitching and throwing just doesn't look right. Everything else looks great or is getting there, but throwing just looks off. Some of the new throwing animations from the live stream definitely help, but pitching animations still lack.

Exactly, like Presentation in 2k is much better. But everything else pretty much is better in the Show.

I still don't understand the first sentence of the post I quoted earlier. Something about hating that it's easy when it's so simple. Something like that...I just couldn't understand what you were getting at with that statement.

I wish they'd bring back some of the longer animations, just for us who really enjoy basking in the good n' lazy atmosphere of baseball.

Gameplay is always going to be king in my book. There are still improvements to be made in this area. I also have to admit, I would have hit the button to bypass that intro long prior to 1 minute and 5 seconds into it - and I play with walk-ups off because I need to squeeze in a game/get bored with those after a few innings/etc (except maybe for Morse's cobra snake coiling thing).

That said, I do appreciate the attention to detail that you guys are catching in all of this. These dudes in Sandy Eggo do pay attention, hence addressing the coloring as there were a lot of complaints about that last year.

I still play 11 quite a bit. The pace of the game along with the longer batter walk ups is really good.

The batting animations arent the problem. The stances and follow throughs and stuff like that are all pretty close.

The pitching animations look pieced together and fake. I know it's against the law to mention this but look at MLB 2K8 for pitching animations and tell me they aren't light years ahead of the Show.

The transitional ones between pitches? Yeah I miss those. I dont know why they replaced them with all the abrupt cuts.

I even preferred them over The Show in the beginning, but I always went back to The Show because the gameplay in 2K drove me nuts.

But, I did like the visuals. The shots of the outside of the ballpark and everything before the game made it feel like a real broadcast. The Show is starting to bring back elements of that, but even I agree that there are things they should duplicate. I still would love to see The Show come up with aerial views (like Madden 13 or FIFA 14), and then outside views of the park with people walking around.

On a small side note, EA buying out rights to the NFL drove me nuts. There were things in 2K5 that Madden still hasn't been able to do today. That should also go to show that they know what they are doing visually, and have some things that could, and should, be replicated.
                                THIS^^^^^ EVERY word of it.
