Definitely not a full hard drive it's bran new just bought this week and only have a few games installed. Since it's new probably not the original slow *** 5400 (whatever that is!) as well.

This is their first full season developing The Show. When developers start harnessing more compute, and the SDK at Sony improves as it has been doing, we should actually seem fairly decent FPS boosts.
The show has had the same frame rate issue since ps3 so I do not think it has anything to do with SDK update and what not

The frame rate does not bother me as much as it is in situations where it is not going to affect gameplay

But the resolution changing on hair grass and beards along with sleeves short or medium is horrible to see as it happens all the time when selecting a pitch

5400RevsPerMimute vs a non-stock 7200RPM or even SSD if you can. But generally these are not going to fix in game framerates.

The bottom does sound pretty bad. Only thing I could think of would be to use a SSD but that sounds like it is wired in-game or could possibly be glitch or bug though I doubt it.

As I said the further they distance themselves from PS3 the better. The SDK and ICE team are always improving PS4 software and low level API. By April 2016 it is going to be pretty beastly. But you can only do so much with such a weak CPU.

Much of their engine still needs to work on PS3 and that clearly is holding them back in some cases.

IMO I see now reason why MLB 16 would be more than a roster update on PS3. This should be the least year they concentrate on it PERIOD.

Still curious if there is any performance difference between the disc and download versions? curious what version people are playing and whether they are having framerate problems or not...

              Re: Framerate?

There is no difference this gen between disc and digital. A disc has to install, and in that time it is doing so will be prone to instabilty while playing. So will the DL if it doesn't have the right info.

A disc fully installs game to HDD. There is no difference and a disc game can be totally negated if Sony chooses to do so just like a DL if someone broke the rules. The only pro to having a disc is that you can resell it this gen.

Yes, there are some framerate problems with the game, though it is much improved from last year.

I agree with Gnome, they really need to leave the PS3 behind next year.

Another place where there's a noticeable dip is the pitcher/batter split screen, which in my brief observation last night looked closer to the dips we were seeing with the crowd cutscenes last year. Somewhat understandable given what's taking place onscreen.

Still, much smoother than '14 overall. Nothing that is going to detract from my enjoyment of the game.

If you guys want to see how bad the resolution changes when selecting a pitch

Select the Mets at home in day game or whatever time of day and when you select the pitch you will see the seats behind home plate go from having no handles to having handles all at the same time which is totally distracting.

I hope that is patched because it is a huge eye soar when selecting a pitch

If your catcher has mid sleeves it will have holes all over the sleeves when you select the pitch or hair on the pitcher that is long becomes low res as well as the grass turns to a blur mess

I have noticed this as well. This should probably be in the impressions/bug thread and im sure multiple people can attest to this as well. For me, its the only thing about the presentation of the game that annoys me, but i can deal with it.

Despite how much attention this issue is getting no one has made a bug report for it yet: http://theshownation.com/bug_reports

Anyway, I can't get to the game right now. Can you do us a favor and take before/after shots of this and send it to the support forum link below?

That is something I surely hope they can fix at worst in a month or two if it's a serious issue with engine. Who knows really.... I just know that 16 should rock my world when I get it. I'm on vacation after 14.

Sounds like LOD issues that need to be ironed out with the engine. This does usually lead to decreased performance but I have no idea how much it would affect anything if they fixed it. Could also just be random bug.

A small part of me feels sad for those people without internet this gen though. You are basically screwed in every game ever.

                            Just tried it.

I literally got no change whatsoever.

I then tried it at Turner Field to see if a different park would make a difference...nothing, pitch selected, no loss of resolution on anything.

Maybe its a freak or we're not all seeing it?

                            Odd one.

Am sure it is for everyone as many have reported it as well in other forums

But I did notice that it happens in 1pm games clear skies. The handles in the seats get this sun shine brightness to them and the hair on long hair pitcher as well as the mets catcher who wears the mid sleeves has them turn into a hole filled sleeve

When I tried it on 4pm game it did not happen but the hair part did

There's no way the texture quality dipping is a glitch, it's gotta be there to ensure better framerate. Not a bug.
