Input Lag/TV/Monitor that we use for The SHOW

Ok fellas I am very sensitive to input lag. I have a 65 inch Curved Samsung 4K tv and game mode on that set does a very good job. My main test is the Show as timing is key when hitting and pitching. I am able to handle both easily with the tv.

I decided to head to Best Buy and bought the Samsung Monitor 27 inch S27D590 that was on sale for 279.99

I got home and put it on my ps4 and WOW...The sharpness of the 1080p was awesome far better then my big screen beast.

I assume the fact that is a small screen means pixel density is bigger which means things look more like 2K then 1080p if that makes sense.

But the input lag is nowhere to be seen as the response is incredible.

What do you guys use for gaming? Monitor TV?

Which monitor would be better then what I got as am willing to get one for just ps4 gaming

it means the time it takes for the command that comes when pressing a button to showing up on the display.

High Input Lag will make your button press and how quick it shows the command on the tv slower then low input lag.

Oh ok. Let me ask you a question... Does the batter/pitcher interface in mlb15 seem choppy. Dosent feel smooth like 14

I use an Acer 24 inch. Not the best picture though. It still looks good but not as good as the TV in the living room.

U think there is a difference between digital and physical copy? something is bothering the heck outta me with it. MLB 14 feels so much different and smoother. So weird!

Interesting as perhaps the colors might not and blacks but resolution has to look better on your monitor if the monitor is 1080P

Well am using digital version and it is perfect...There is horrible frame issues when camera pans to crowd or at times throwing from third base to first base or fouling the pitch back but batter to pitcher is smooth

I had the disc version last week but sold it and that was just as smooth

Re: Input Lag/TV/Monitor that we use for The SHOW

Most people confuse screen response time with input lag. Screen response time has more to do with how blurry or pixelated your screen will be when there's a fast moving image. Input lag is how long your command takes to show up on screen. That's why I've always felt the discussion about what Pitch Speed people play on to be pretty moot. Yes, reflexes have a little to do with it but the much bigger factor is what screen you're playing it on.

I recently decided to try my shot at a little more competitive play in a few FPS games so I went out and got a BenQ 24" RL series gaming monitor. It has the second lowest input lag of any monitors widely tested in 2014. The difference was noticeable instantly going from even a 50" Panny plasma to this monitor. The graphics looked better because 1080p was being shown on a much tighter surface. But all of a sudden I was winning a lot more gun battles in BF4 and COD than ever before. I became a significantly better FIFA Pro Clubs player but where I noticed it most was in The Show 14. All those fastballs I used to be late on I was actually pulling now.

I can't recommend playing on a gaming monitor enough, it makes a significant difference.

                      Very good post.

I have a 65 inch curved 4K Samsung and I love playing on it. Right now I disconnected from the Samsung monitor and plugged into the big screen 4K tv and the show just looks awesome in a big screen.

But pixel density better in the samsung 27 monitor as well as input lag even though this hdtv has low input lag for a 4K tv in game mode.

So I returned the samsung monitor and bought the asus pb27q 2K monitor for playing ps4 games.

I was skeptical that 1080p would not look as good on a 2K monitor but I was dead wrong and the extra pixels in that 27 screen made the 1080p ps4 games look a sharper then on standard 1080p

Zero input lag and great color. I wish I could see how the ps4 games would look on the asus 4K monitor.

It will be 1080p output but the extra pixels on small screen should help

I have a sony tv that is about 7 and a half years old 37 inch tv. It is 720p upscale to 1080p but is not full 1080p. I had to replace the lamp for the first time at the begging of last year and once it goes out again I think I am going to upgrade to a 4k 50-55 inch tv. My tv is sony KDF 37100 or something like that. I don't really noticed any Input lag so I don't know if I have any or not. If I do I think it is pretty low.
