But The Shows learning curve, and knowing you we're going to fail at the plate often times is what I loved about this game. Honestly there are a lot of things this year that make me nervous.
Well, hopefully it's balanced and those with lower Contact and Plate Vision will have a noticeably smaller PCI. And centering up a pitch will need to be that much more precise to hit it well.

I could see Precision Input making the game alot more challenging, depending on the difficulty you play on.

I definitely don't want to see the game become any easier either, it's already been dumbed down too much since I started playing with MLB 12.

If the stats are going to reflect mostly our skills now, then I might as well switch back to RTTS.

This is just speculation, of course. But now that I've had time to think about the new features, this is what comes to mind.
I am sure they will adjust it so that it varies with the hitter's skill... kinda like how meter pitching is a lot harder with bad pitchers... you won't be able to master hitting with the weak hitters but you wont fail miserably so much with the great ones like you do now.

I trust that we will get the same stats in the end (which is a good thing), just with a better process.

Agreed. The results will be about the same but the process will make much more sense and for online I'd rather beat guys based on when I play well with well timed swings and well placed PCI's and lose to guys who do the same.

I do not think it will make a huge impact with directional/classic pitching and attributes will still be the main determining factor.

Overall, I see no cons for this change unless it just maks Directional or classic pitching too easy, but I doubt this is the case.

Excited for this. I always hated facing a bottom of the rotation starter that would leave every pitch belt high and get away with it. At least now if I hit a pop up or a weak dribbler, I know that it's on me.

I can't tell you how many times I've lost some games that I know I should have won. My ace making pitches that are borderline balls and getting lit up, while the other pitcher is throwing batting practice fastballs to me, yet I can't square one up, even with my best hitters. When I have games like that, I often feel like I wasted my time playing when the game is over.

I'm hoping that I'll have full control over the analog pitching as well. I've given up tons of 0-2 homers in this years game. Basically, when trying to pitch out of the strike zone and spike a pitch in the dirt, I'll swing the joystick way over to one side to get the ball off the plate but the game "takes over" and puts the ball right back over the heart of the plate.

This may finally get me to try timing/directional hitting again. I like the idea of that type of hitting, but nothing irked me more than having perfect timing on a pitch and missing the ball, or even worse, weakly hitting it to the pitcher, then on the other hand having poor timing and drilling a base hit.

I want player ratings to have the biggest effect, but I also want user input to mean something. Too often with timing hitting, I felt like it didn't matter at all what I was doing at the plate, basically like I was pressing a button but really was watching a sim.

The more I think about this feature the more I'm excited for it. I see:

                    More Liners
                    Less Homeruns
More "I know as soon as I swing the bat" Homeruns
More choppers I know I deserve
More being genuinely fooled at the plate
More walks given up by me
More homeruns given up by me
More hits given up by be
Less perfect pitches by me being hit into the gap for multi-base hits
Less reaching out of the zone Homeruns by the CPU

And especially: Lots more cursing at the changeup.

These are all things that needed to happen in my game. Well, except the changeup thing. Really looking forward to it.

I could not agree more. Last years game is the first in a while I did not play year round because I felt like I controlled nothing in this game and the animations were awful in the field.

Everyone uses buttons to hit, unless you are telling Siri to swing for you...

Just messing with ya, All hitting modes use a PCI. Everyone associates the PCI with Zone, but Analog and Timing still secretly use one under the hood... so all hitting modes will get some sort of benefit from this thing.

It's pretty simple better swing timing will result in better more solid contact, and vice versa if your late on pitches your going to be punished more.

With this input system and using timing/directional hitting if we get good timing on our swings will that always result in a hit or will it take into account the players attributes?

Nope that's not realistic at all. Your input means more for the positive and the negative. You should swing, look at swing analysis and go up that's about right.

Does it affect fielding and how would it affect classic pitching?
