Re: MLB The Show 16 Q&A Thread

Hearing a lot about the timing window being opened up. I was worried with the new PCI I believe it is? That hitting would be way too easy, and less based on player ability. So my question is how easy is hitting, and is it too easy. I play on Allstar with timing hitting.

How about a video of Pirate's Jung Ho Kang batting stance?

only if you are hitting and pitching at the legend level with all the sliders in favor of the cpu.

I started at Allstar and now at the HOF level for pitching and batting. Sliders at default.

For me AllStar was the 'sweet spot' last year. HOF might be the option for me this year. It will take all of spring training to tweak my level, sliders and camera angles. Just like MLB players.
You mention pitching being opened up as well. Are you meaning that it is a bit more difficult on default sliders this year? I found myself upping sliders for pitching the last few years because it was way, way too easy.

Granted, the new "fish eye" batting camera allows us to see more of the stadium (including base runners) while batting, but the centerfield score board looks 2-miles away? Is there an available camera to tweak from where we'll be able to read the score boards when batting?

              Thanks in advance...

GW...have to tried to tweak the fisheye.....also you can always press the R3 and view the score boards while in the fisheye mode.

NAFBUC, thanks for the reply & contributions here

Don't have the game yet, just fishing for early information. The score board & pitcher seem SO far away from the plate in fisheye/what i'm accustomed to.

"IF" you get bored (not sure how you could with game in hand) will you take a screenshot of ANY stadium before & after hitting R3 from the fisheye view?

                    Enjoy!!!

Is it easier to tell how many walks and strikeouts the current pitcher has without having to go to the game log no

                        Solid framerate 1080p 60fps? improved

Does the camera follow fouls more like days of old no

Did the problem get fixed where certain outs/situations would result in loss of next batter walk up routine (i.e. is every walk up routine displayed unless x is pressed?) no

Is the bat boy less intrusive? no Yankee bat boy has full beard and sometimes the bat boy is close to the ondeck batter in line of fire

How is the collision detection this year: improved

Accuracy of tags on baserunners; fielder gloves going through baserunners on the tags. improved

Players going through each other. improved
ah well on some of the answers...thanks for taking the time to look.

How's Kris Bryant look? Did he receive a face scan? If someone wants to post a pic in the pictures/videos thread I'd appreciate it! Couldn't request it in that thread.

The fish eye camera looks amazing. Going to need some time to settle into a new batting view after using Catcher Zoom 3 and from I read no zoom cameras this year? Of course I can just do a custom one if it comes to that. But online(DD, Conquest and BR) I will need to be able to use a preset one. So I will figure it out.

All-Star seems easier huh? Need to play it for myself at default and go from there. I like the new offspeed pitch speed slider and fast ball one as well. Excellent additions.

When you say hitting is more like 13 I hope you don't mean floaty like 13. Are you just referring to the timing window being easier?

for me......while pitching on all star level, timing or pulse, getting strikeouts is easier based on a small sample size.
