They should just put a toggleable option under RTTS presentation, for both Game Watch and Play by Play.

Having to snipe either option during a cut scene, and have it remember is ridiculous.

Game Watch was already an option under RTTS Presentation if I recall, so it's not like they are designing a whole new feature option.

Well this sucks. I will really miss using the result play option for playoff games. I understand they wanted to streamline but the option to change this would be nice.

I played a little last night and it just felt like a string of at-bats for my player and no longer like I was part of the game. Just moved way too fast. I know you can press O to watch the play by play thing, but I always miss that because I'm hitting X to skip something. Just wish it was the way it was before and showed you the play by play screen. Just feel like the mode is rushing you, what's the hurry?

? And if you looked to the left just a wee-bit you would see the triangle button brings you to last years menu.

So the teammate hitting option for all/half is gone?

No not at all, people like to complain about something being removed without looking into the settings [emoji20]

The point of contention here is that (1) you have to press that after each appearance, and (2) there’s no getting past the fact that the time from the first pitch until your first appearance is always missed with no recourse. (e.g. there are no “PLAY BY PLAY” or “WATCH GAME” options until after your first appearance)

You probably have your baserunning set to Action. Change it in the Mode Specific option menu.

Really wish I would have seen this thread before spending the money on the game. This year was tight but I sprung for the $59.99 anyway! Only to find out what everyone else is talking about here in this thread.

I was really enjoying the smoother animations and a few other small things when I realized why does the game keep skipping to only my player lock plays. I do not play RTTS I play Franchise 162 games created player locked at SS since MLB 14! I took a look at the options tried to make some changes then I found this thread.

I have to agree with everyone here that playing baseball is not about been rushed and I have played baseball in real life up until the college level. So when I found out about this as someone stated it no longer feels like baseball. It may very well look the part but this is just a huge disappointment so much so that I shut the game off!

Franchise mode is the only mode I personally valued for a real baseball experience the other modes added are nice ideas but a far from the game of baseball! One of the main reasons I liked watching the game was to see my player's build up and perform. I play SS and I want to see every play for all 9 innings!

I have worked in a industry for 7 years now! So when numbers like 0.04% are thrown out there! I know exactly where those thoughts and decisions come from! But complaining to someone or mean tweeting them is not going to solve anything! When a decision like that is made its no longer about having a passion to make something great! It becomes something that you don't want but we never realize that until its too late!

Eternally bummed that a feature I valued from one of my favorite games is no longer there aside from pressing the O button but seriously who want's to do that after every play for 9 innings and 162 games!?

I will not wait for it to be put back in 17 or 18. I have just decided as of today to stop playing MLB The Show 16 completely!

By the way Showtime still happens when you turn it OFF!

I was one of the few that used result play in RTTS. I really miss it in this game so much so I might give up and revert back to my old game. Not having it on offense to see my teammates bat I miss but can live without. However on defense I can't do it. I miss out on so much on defense without it. An example I'm a 2B a runner on first a ball is gapped the right fielder throws it to me as the cutoff and I gun the runner down at home trying to go 1st to home. Also there is no point of playing defense when I already know the ball is coming to me before the pitch is thrown.

I play Franchise mode with player lock

I just played two full games pressing the "O" button after every play trying to justify the money I just spent because I love baseball and MLB The Show Series so much! It was pretty painful!

I don't like to know the ball is coming to me when I am playing SS on defense. I tried the "All" and "Some" setting's while hitting "O" and I had only two natural ground balls hit to me all 9 innings!

Still baffled by this decision as pace is such a huge part of baseball and why would you ever want to fast forward a game that looks so beautiful the announcers get cut off along with all these "new animations!?" when pressing the "O" button.

Someone in some meeting at some point in time at SD studio had to defend this decision at some point. I just can't justify this in anyway and sorry but 0.04% is just not a good enough reason!

I really hope the solution someone posted earlier about the "O" button can be updated in a patch or something similar! Its like removing the in game save feature.

Guess I will try to deal with pressing "O" button for now!

This was just so perfect, I had to pause the game and post this.

Player locked the second hitter in the lineup — David Wright in this case — and played a Franchise game.

Game skipped, as we expect now, from the opening presentation cutscenes right to my first at-bat. (Paraphrasing here, as my laughter has already faded my memory of these quotes.)

Matt Vasgersian: “David Wright steps into the box following that seven pitch at-bat to start tonight’s game.”

Eric Karros: “Yeah and, if he’s smart, and he would’ve taken a good look at each of those pitches.”

*sigh*

I'm still trying to get over the fact they removed the batting practice option in RTTS. Really? Did they have to make room for that Showtime crap? Did the developers ever even play RTTS mode?

They removed a good percentage of the Player Lock and RTTS features. There is a comment earlier in the thread about the game having a million options is not good! But then I look at 2k16 and when they added all the options for My League people loved it because you could control what you want!

Its so funny I was playing MLB 15 earlier this month leading up to the release of MLB 16 and I remember saying to myself man we are so lucky to have all these options to work with player lock to make the game play how we want. Then I found out about this in MLB 16 but had already brought the game!

I guess on the bright side at least they did not completely remove it as I am still hitting "O" to get the full MLB experience with player lock in Franchise mode and trying not to cut off the commentary!
