    As always, a love/hate relationship.....

As many of you I anticipate the day when this title arrives. The new features, the new modes, the new visuals, just the newness in general gets one excited. But as in years past I find myself again with a love/hate relationship with this silly game. I guess I am just one who is left with wanting/expecting more.

For starters I love this game! When it plays correctly there is no sports game (IMO) which can compare to it in it's SIM qualities. Each and every year SCEA finds some way to tweak this game in some way to improve upon an already great baseball game. Seems not to long ago we were all jacked about the addition of the CHALLENGE OF THE WEEK. This year I again plan on spending time in DIAMOND DYNASTY and trying my hand at BATTLE ROYALE. Last year I spent plenty of time ONLINE RATED games (loved the fact that pitcher's stamina was tracked). I've never been much of a FRANCHISE or RTTS guy. But that may have to change.

Not sure why but this year (at least at this early stage) the online play is terrible. ONLINE RATED games for me connect at less than 25% of the time. And when they do connect the chances of those games being completed......well many of you feel my frustration. DIAMOND DYNASTY (and BATTLE ROYALE) games connect at a higher rate and complete at a higher rate, BUT when they disconnect mid-game......oh, my.....the mini-game STANDOFF of who will disconnect first. ARGH!

Do I dare mention the lengthy load times between screens? I initially thought something was wrong. No, this was the norm???? What? And what's up with the PERKS many are trying to acquire by way of STUBBS or PLAYER PACKS which were promised when purchasing in advance? And I'm still confused how I got a ROSTERS MISMATCH ERROR pop up. I hadn't even touched the rosters and was simply navigating from screen to screen.

It's so easy to forget all these shortcomings when you know you just launched one deep into the right field bleachers. But then again, what do you do if your game freezes while the ball is in flight heading towards it's eminent landing in those bleacher seats? I guess it's time for the mini-game of STANDOFF.

No matter what.......hang in there and love and hate this game for what it's worth.
