    Mid-game Saves without exiting?

I live in Florida. If you've never spent any extended period of time in Florida, there are 5 things that define your life here:

    1. We are great at counting things
    4. You can't go more than 2 weeks without a power outage here, especially between April and September.

For this post, we will be focusing solely on #3. Now this isn't a 1977 type of blackout, or even a 2016 Mets after April kind of blackout. Usually, the power doesn't stay off for more than 60 seconds. Coincidentally, 60 seconds is just long enough for a PS4 to abandon you. Just long enough for that console to leave you more disappointed than when you post a job opening in Public Relations, and your first two interviews are with Alex Rodriguez and Chris Brown.

If you live in a normal state, and you don't have time to finish your game of MLB The Show, you just put your PS4 in sleep mode and come back to it the next day or the next month or whenever. That sadly isn't an option here. I can't be the only Floridian that has had their heart crushed in the summer, like a PETA activist who realizes her blind date is Michael Vick. I'm also sure Florida isn't the only state with this problem (though it is probably the worst, since it leads the country in lightning storms/strikes).

All jokes aside, it would be great if I could back things up with an actual game save, without being forced to then exit the game. That way I could Save my progress, then put the PS4 in sleep mode, and be secure that my game will remain in some capacity. My PS4 loses its suspended The Show game a good 10 times per year. It's already happened a few times this year, including once today.

I know this is a minor thing to complain about, but hey, it's the All Star break. I was bored.

So... mid-game saves without exiting. Would you want this to be added?

    Why not?

    Sounds like a convenient feature.

I asked RR on Twitter about this last year and he said "no" and that it wasn't gonna happen.

UPS battery backup solved my problem with outages.

Doesn't help much if you're not home and left your game paused whilst the PS4 is sleeping, so you can resume upon your return.

If you think about it, having to back out of the game to save makes less sense than being able to save it at any point without quitting the game. I mean you could still save and then quit the game to the main menus if it were designed the other way. And you would be able to create multiple save points from within a single game and have it so you could go back and redo things if you so should want to.

How many times has something in a game gone terribly wrong and if you would've had a recent save point you could've went back and replayed what happened?

It has for me even when not home. I can tell by other things that power went out. Power goes out only for a few seconds and the UPS keeps the ps4 from powering off. The PS4 is as the outage never happened. I pick up right where I left off in sleep mode. The UPS is good for about 5-10 minutes on battery power and when the power only goes out for a few seconds it works perfectly.

I'd like to see that added. We have a lot of random power outages, too. It'd be a nice option to have.
