I have Samsung js8500, hdr on intensity half way and enhanced visuals, is it just me or is anyone else seeing banding in the sky that appears to be bouncing

I've noticed that on the KS8500, glad I'm not the only one. I believe it has something to do with HDR. I'm almost positive one of the newer Final Fantasies had the same problem but it was later corrected in a patch.

I have the KU6300 and noticing a lot of wash out with HDR enabled. I've tried going in/out of the game and not messing with the intensity slider as well as adjusting the configuration on the TV.

It looks better with HDR off, which is definitely not the case with Ghost Recon - so I have a feeling it's something with the game.

Turned on my HDR and it just made everything dark. Am I missing something?

I'm in 4k mode, HDR on, eco solution etc all off, game mode on, backlight at 20, brightness at 45, contrast at 100, smart LED on high, HDMI UHD color on, color space native, HDR intensity all the way up.

              Any help would be great.
I have the same set and notice the exact same thing. With DC on high, picture looks brightest and most vibrant. When I lower it, the picture becomes dark and with less vibrancy. Having numerously visited the AVS forums for the KS8000/8500, some users have recommended that dynamic contrast be on medium or high when watching HDR material. From my experience with HDR content on this set, I can tell you settings will vary depending on the source. I have a Sony UHD player and a PS4 pro. For each game and movie, settings will vary. Some look better with DC on medium. Some on high or not at all. It's really a subjective thing. In other words, one isn't for all. Personally, I prefer DC on, the level depends on the source. I also have brightness at 45, backlight and contrast at 100, color space on auto for HDR. If picture is too bright, you can try lowering gamma a little.

I have HDR on and enhanced visuals and the intensity meter little less than half way and I still get a dimming effect before the pitch is thrown...checked my tv settings everything is fine with that. Any ideas?

For those of you guys with Samsung KS8000 tv models. My settings seem pretty good. I try to tweak and calibrate each game I play to look the best to my ability. I use straight game mode and the settings are: Backlight:20
                  Brightness:40
                  Contrast:100
                  Sharpness:10
                  Color:70
                  Smart Led:High
                  HDMI Black Level:normal
                  Dynamic contrast:off
                  Color tone:standard
                  Color space:native
all other settings off or untouched. I also have in game HDR on. HDR intensity at about 15%. I play with enhanced visuals.
There does also seem to be some type of weird halo/ghosting/tint around the LED jumbotron and other ads or signs that get lit up during night games. Seems to be slightly better with HDR intensity on the low end where i have it. HDR inensity up more than half seems to wash out colors and be too bright during day games. These settings tend to show good contrast and shadows on the field during day games and transitioning to night games. i love the night lighting except for those graphical glitches. Hope they can patch it somehow or this game would look perfect.

Why is HDR intensity so low?

Could be your TV settings turn your backlight to the max and contrast. And in mlb the show don't change your video settings in game do it in the settings menu. I hope that makes sense

You have your color setting on 70?!?! That's way too high. You should leave that on default 50.

For those that have the KU6300/6500, I just reset my picture because HDMI Black Level was stuck to Low and greyed out.

After the reset I was able to adjust it to Auto, that mixed with setting Color to Native as made a world of difference. Looks great now, at least on the first game I've had in daytime/Partly Cloudy.

I'll update as I tweak settings.

I don't want to start an argument and I know you and I have the same TV. So I'll just chalk it up to preference now because at the end of the day that's all that matters. Just like I don't think Dynamic Contrast is needed but others do.

I hear you. Many on AVS say use auto while Rtings and CNET say use Native for HDR content. I always keep it at auto for SDR content. As far as dynamic contrast I never use that and never recommend anyone use it either. It messes with the colors and not necessary.

For some reason on HDR enabled games I generally have color set to 60-70. I guess its based on preference but to my eyes those colors seem to have a good pop to them and not overly saturated. Everyone has different eyes and will prefer more or less color. I just seem to like those settings.
