Anyone miss the old newspaper tidbits after each game in the Franchise menu? Feels like everything is way too streamlined nowadays.

re: MLB The Show 17 Impressions
I really like the humanity AI, I had a play where Mauer catches a liner and tags the runner at 1st for the double play. In last year's game he would react slowly and not make the tag, I really wished I remembered to save a video of it.Mets/Giants/Knicks/Rangers/Manchester United/Notre Dame Football

re: MLB The Show 17 Impressions
I encountered a bug a couple of times. I'm on Season Mode and two times I've placed the fielder under the ball and he doesn't make the catch, the ball literally hits the body/head of the fielder and then after 1 second the fielder reacts and starts running towards the ball. So far it's happened two times.Comment

Things that are supposed to be straight lines that are broken up into edges. In this game in particular it's chalk lines, railings, outfield walls, bats during a night game, grass texture borders. Even in 4K they are very noticeable. There is little to no anti-aliasing in this game. It's gorgeous other than that and the gameplay is top notch.

re: MLB The Show 17 Impressions
I'd just like to add my impression of the sound is really top notch, and by sound I mean environmental and the crowd sound. They really seem to know what is going on and the sound gives you the feeling of, well thousands of people. Often times in other sports games the sound is too "thin", as if it was like maybe 300 people or such, instead of 50,000 or whatever.
Not only that but just the things you hear really remind you of being at a real ball game. I'm talking intangibles here. They have really put together the holy grail of audio for this game I think. The surround is amazing, I hear things coming from all around me, sometimes it even scares the crap out of me thinking someone is in the room with me, LOL.Comment

MLB The Show 17 Impressions only.
Just threw 8.2 IP perfect innings with Aaron Sanchez against the White Sox. On the last out, Asche rolled over a ball and it bounced to Sanchez. He failed to pick it up but recovered in time and in my adrenaline fueled panic I throw cancelled the preloaded throw from before the initial whiff on the ball. Infield base hit. I'm turning throw cancelling off. -_-
Regardless. This game is great. The ball physics make it a whole new game.

The gameplay is fine, but the new hairstyles, facial hair, and sideburns are disappointing. They should have just left it alone.Comment

1) Hitching when practice swinging in the box.
2) Hitching when selecting a pitch.
3) During cutscene, before you're at bat, graphic turns really pixelated.Comment

re: MLB The Show 17 Impressions
I'm having the same problems at 720p. Jaggies are really bad, framerates are iffy, and small text on the screen is barely legible. The crazy thing is when I playback one of my uploaded videos on youtube the game looks COMPLETELY different. The last version of the Show that I played was '14 and this wasn't a problem.Comment

re: MLB The Show 17 Impressions
I'd probably have to report this as a "bug" haha but it's so hilarious I just have to post about it. I'm diddling around in Home Run Derby, and I'm using Stanton in Miami. You may or may not know this, but these stadiums with this plexi-glass aren't exactly full of collision detection all around (sadly enough). Often times it will go through things like the glass, the roofs, etc. Sometimes there are small structures that will be hit, and the game will notice it.
Anyway, I hit a ball so high and far that it actually disappeared over the roof of Miami's ballpark. It didn't register as a home run. No, it wasn't a foul ball, it was in LCF.
What do I think happened? I think the ball hit a structure that's technically hanging over the field, and since it hit it it never actually cleared the fence, therefore it wasn't a home run.
I don't really care, but I just thought that it was kind of funny and I want to keep exploring more parks to crush the ball.
EDIT: And just like that, I hit it out of RF of Marlins Park with Chris Davis, hitting the top of the roof and going out. Somehow it was only 412 feet. Maybe that was where it actually hit and not its landing spot, who knows. This is so fun though!Last edited by Blzer; 03-30-2017, 12:46 AM.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment
