Holy crap, that's a good deal. Wish I found that deal when I bought my new TV a couple months ago.

Ok, I thought that might be the case. So I don't have to change the setting even if it's say, at 85?

what tv do you have.... if the max is 100 it should be there automatically when hdr is engaged. you can lower it if you want but is not recommended as it is suppose to be maxed out in hdr

For TV Calibration I highly recommend looking up DARKO on YouTube.

I have a 65inch Q6 if anyone wants or needs calibration settings for gaming plans to watch movies.

This is interesting on my P series Vizio my backlight is at like 65 with HDR on, u think I’m missing out on the true picture quality capability?

That is strange, did you ever set it to 65 or that is default value when you engage HDR

Also make sure you have FULL UHD COLOR to on for each HDMI input as this is required for HDR to work

Perhaps Vizio does not max out the back light but if you feel you need a bit more brightness which is always a plus in HDR max it out and see if it improves the image

Looking forward to tinkering with that when I get home later, as good as my picture seems to look already I’d be stoked if it could be better lol

Yea just max it out to whatever number it is. HDR requires full backlight so highlights stand out. Not the case for standard content but in HDR it is a must

I think HDR is much better in '19 than it was in '18. With '18, I ultimately had to turn it off because it just seemed "too vivid" at times. I found my eyes also became tired after looking at it for a full game. With '19, it seems dialed-in to a much more realistic level and I'm loving it.

What tv do you have? Also in HDR mode the color space needs to be auto not native because if not then you get over saturated colors

I have the same tv and yeah, the backlight needs to be maxed manually.

I actually still haven't tried HDR in the game because I got my slim PS4 on input 5 to get the better input lag. I might switch it over to 4 to see how the HDR looks.
