You honestly can’t go wrong with all star default. Always enjoyed this approach and gives me a great variety of games.

Re: Old head considering a Show comeback...

Played my first full exhibition on the cheap '20 I picked up.

Looks and plays great on the PS5 as I expected and the 21 rosters from McNulty are superb certainly good enough to roll a franchise with.

As I said played default AS no slider adjustments at all and it played very well walks, extra base hits, Ks etc all felt natural. As with when I used to play seemed a tad easier to keep the CPU offense anaemic than I'd like so will try a game on default HOF later see how that goes but I won't be messing around with sliders I'm sad to say just not what I want to do if I throw myself into a chase trying for all 162.

Did also make me wonder how different '21 would look and feel but it would cost me £55 to find that out and if '20 is as good as this I see no real reason to waste the cash.

Just wanted to thank everyone for their kind comments and thoughts its really helped me in which way I want to go with this return from a few years of the show hiatus.

      Cheers fellas.

There is nothing wrong with the on field gameplay of '21. It plays a great game of ball. I am just not a fan of the changes they have made towards the tying everything to DD and such. Plus the removal of carry over saves. With '20 I have an ongoing long term franchise, tons of historical rosters and such. For me there is just not as much value in moving forward as staying with '20. If I could carry over or at least bring rosters over to '21 its what I would be playing in all honesty. But again, I am just not ready to give up literally thousands of hours of Baseball to move on.

Hear you totally. That's a lot of hard graft to give up on.

Played a game on default HOF wonderfully competitive 6-4 outcome with all the variation I described before.

          Now comes the big decision.

Do I start a franchise on '20 or bite the bullet get '21 and just fire up default HOF and play (default rosters don't worry about the lack of real minors and just accept the gaming universe for what it is)I unlike you and others have no '20 franchise or progress to lose.

Lot of money to throw away if I regret it.

The Braves are a good team to consider. They have the potential to do good but never do... and when they do, they find a way to blow it. I'd say that makes them a good contender team.

You have '20 just roll with it. Pick a team and have fun. If down the road you want to switch to '21 you will eventually be able to get it for half price if not lower after the season and after it has run the gamut of patches thru the year. I still say that, for you, the biggest selling point is it is a complete game. Its been patched it wont change, we all know how many times the game has changed before with patches. The past year '20 has been on sale for as little as $5 American. In todays age of sales and digital content there is no reason to pay full price at launch for a game that will most likely get 3 to as much as a dozen patches before its working as intended.

Quit over thinking my friend. You have a brand new game of Baseball in your hands. Play it and have fun. '21 isn't going anywhere and you can change whenever the mood strikes down the road. For Cheaper.

The man, he speaketh much sense.

Spent some time really thinking it over last night and came to the same conclusion...I'm sticking with '20, for the many reasons we've already talked about.

Time to get this franchise a rollin...

So are you rolling with HOF default? I’ll assume you still have a preference for directional/ pulse?

                    Yes to all that.

HOF default, directional, pulse, auto fielding buttons only. Want the nice balance between my skill and player ratings.
