Wishlist for Future Iterations of The Show (22)

Let's begin compiling early Wishlist items that you are KILLING for to be in the future, whether it be long term, or short term

My requests are pretty obvious and I've also wanted them in the game for years:

    1) UNBUTTONED JERSEYS - Different fits for body types / tighter pants

    2) Pitchers warming up in the bullpen longer cutscenes to build suspense

    3) Dip chew in pitchers' mouths on the mound (doubtful due to game rating)

    4) Fan immersion (Racing contests between innings/crowd entertainment/involvement)

    5) Commentary that refers to in-game attendance or reaction. and in-game current events - races to awards like All-Star announcements. Also would be nice to hear them talk about random occurrences in the game like a player's bat type, or how a player is taking too much of a lead before the ball is in play.

    6) Dynamic scheduling for Franchise/RTTS every year should rotate the interleague games scheduled, and sensible road trips-home stands

Before anyone begins to complain since the latest game hasn't even been released a week yet, I still want these to be at least read by someone involved in the game, we're just throwing ideas around to keep the game fresh.

    Expanded rosters.

    Expansion ability in franchise.

    Rotating interleague schedules.

    Completely redone scouting system.

    Revamped development and progression/regression system.

    For stadium creator:

    More ads and signs

The ability to have dimensions on the walls as well as have the tops of the wall painted different from the rest of the wall

Manual bullpen placement on the field of play, beyond the outfield wall, hidden underground or under the stadium, etc.

    Customizable foul territory

The ability to set a manual bend in the stands and set how many rows of stairs are in a selection

The ability to the stands automatically fit flush against the wall using procedurally techniques that use basic math that let the seats in the stands populate or disappear depending on angle and available space

Decks that can hang over the field

Logo placement on field including the cut in the outfield grass

More and better grass textures/patterns (impacts MLB stadiums too)

The ability to set custom sounds for the created stadium

And for other parts of the game again:

    Sounds of the Show return

    Y2Y saves return

Ability to carry forward rosters, players, uniforms, logos, and stadiums into future releases

I’d like to see several different announcers calling the games each with their own style and special words and phrases for home runs, strikeouts, etc. They wouldn’t have to be real life announcers, just someone who sounds like what you hear on the radio calling games. Have 6 different announcers/color commentator duos that call the AL east, central, west NL east, central, and west according to who the home team is. In other words, have 1 announcer/color commentator who covers each division in each league. Keep the dialogue different between all 6. Have new lines added in updates to keep everything fresh too. It’s time to hear new voices calling games.

As mentioned earlier, I’d like to see rotating inter league schedules.

Also, spring training games that end in ties if tied after 9 innings. These games don’t count in the standings but the team and individual stats do as is seen in real life spring training baseball.

It might be easier to look at past wishlishts and checkoff what wishes came true in the last few years. might be a shorter list than rehashing the same dreams. what do we have added recently, create-a-stadium, editable Service Time? am I missing anything? surely I am.

the only thing new wish that hasn't been posted several dozen times in the last 6 years that I can think of is wishing for Carry-Over saves to return in 22

Re: Wishlist for Future Iterations of The Show (22)

Roster expansion - I want a lot more, with simulation A (doesn't have to be playable) but we need at least 10 more spots or, if it's truly the only way, to make AA an unplayable dumping ground like A is right now. 90 players to properly staff 3 teams is not enough. I couldn't even trade for a MLB rental without it screwing over my AA team this year, and I have a very well balanced team.

Progression/Regression revamp - I say it every year. Progression is ok in this game. It could do with the odd MLB ready 19 year old, but other than that it's pretty good. Regression is a hot pile though. Please for all that is good copy the NHL series, or better yet, improve on it with a coloured graph system. Also being able to scout your own and other current MLB players and having that effect the accuracy of the graphs would be the cherry on top.

Also move most of it to the off-season, and replace the current training system with a season-exit meeting system. Make the off-season more involved.

Be able to add custom uniforms to a team's uniform list - as opposed to replacing uniforms. Let us add new alternates without changing any of the existing uniforms, and let us access the team's current and historical symbols and colours for both new alternates and complete rebrands.

Three-way trades - with cash considerations. Also we desperately need more than three trade spots.

Bring back carry over saves - I'll be understanding of its removal if franchise gets improvements, but that hasn't materialized so far. Without carry overs or meaningful franchise improvements, 20 may be the last Show I play.

Custom Shifts and more comprehensive shift system - The shift system in the show currently is kind of a joke, extremely limiting, and riddled with bugs or just plain poor design decisions that lead to a poor user experience. Let us set our own quick shifts. Let us setup at least three situations per batter (bases empty, double play, runners on no double play) and save them permanently as opposed to having to reset them every game, or every at bat in most cases.

Revamp the secondary position system and make switching positions an in game mechanic as opposed to requiring editing - maybe add a versatility attribute, or rank secondary positions with a colour system. Example: Green plays as well as their primary position, yellow has a small debuff, red has a larger debuff, and unlisted is truly punishing.

Fix various bugs and legacy issues - Rotating interleague schedules has already been mentioned, but there is stuff like relievers coming in with energy missing no matter how well you manage them, the fact that energy and durability need separation, contract extensions getting mentioned as free agent signings, way too cold of summers every single year (easily solved if you just make game time temperature selectable pre-game). There's more for sure I'm just drawing a blank for now.

Remove the 5 pitch limit for pitchers - Should be at least 7

Eephus pitch for position players on the mound - maybe also add it as an option for pitchers.

6 man rotations - and if you're going to keep morale the way it is now give us the option to shift the schedule so we can account for injuries without upsetting the ace or skipping a start.

Redo morale or have the option to turn it off - or both.

Add hold x to skip to injury cutscenes - I'm too often skipping past them without realizing what they are. Speaking of...

Add some presentation back in - the fact that I used to be perfectly fine with the hybrid presentation and now I play on broadcast and find it's not enough is a worrying trend.

Bring back check swings and xp for simulation players - just make xp based on innings played alone and it can no longer be exploited.

Add perfect throws to all bags, not just home plate and cutoff

                Non-roster spring invitees

Bring back SotS - Hopefully with spotify integration (with in client sharable SotS setups over said spotify)

That's all I got... for now. Might continue to edit later.

Real Time player, ball & bat Physics! Also an overhauled Collision Detection system! Long overdue!

I won't be purchasing another edition of MLB the Show until this is addressed. Too much immersion killing player & ball clipping (ball going through the bat on swings, players running through bodies, infielders arms & hands clipping through base runners on pick off attempts, etc.) This has to be addressed for Next Gen!

All I want to play is classic rostersso anything that helps that. The ability to modify leauges so you can recreate a paticular season. More pitching motions that can recreate old motions, or a way to edit existing motions. In the stadium creater arounded stadium option, and artificial turf that looks like the old artificial turf. also just the option that if u move the hitters eye you cannot use stadium online,I think that would also helpin creating old stadiums. Also throwing a baseball well enough to get MLB hitters outis a violent intense motion. The animations do not do a good job of recreating this.
