So I played a good amount of exhibition games using the competitive setting (legend pitching, Hall of fame hitting) and I got to a place where I felt I was ready to begin my franchise. I was hitting home runs, everything felt good, I was being challenged but it just felt right. When I was on a pitch, I knew it. So I began franchise, same settings. And let me tell you, everything changed.
I've played a few games in the franchise and tallied my perfect/perfect contacts and I have 0 home runs and 3 of the 9 perfects were hits. The other 6 were hit hard right at a fielder. All of a sudden everything seems backwards. But it's not just that. Even on the swings that are considered "good" timing by the feedback, when the middle of my cursor is just above or below it, it's a swing and miss, meaning the cursor is actually on the ball, but not dead center, and I'm literally swinging and missing. Something is clearly off. And I think I figured it out.
I don't think the Competitive setting is working properly in franchise. I think franchise may actually default to Simulation or just ignore that setting altogether. It's the only thing I can think of that would explain the night and day between exhibition hitting and franchise hitting.
Mind you, I'm still 3-0 with the Yankees, but that's only because the cpu is having the same problems. Their offense is just lifeless. First game Cole struck out 14 in 6 innings. Second game Rodon struck out 11 in 5.1. Third game severino struck out 10 in 6.1. But during exhibition, everything was perfect. Everything felt right. It's when I started the franchise that everything got funky.
I know a good amount of other people were saying they noticed hitting seemed laggy and wonky, but for me it's only in franchise. In exhibition, it's perfect. I definitely don't think the competitive setting is carrying over into franchise.
