My tip would be play on rookie against a below average side with your best lineup available. If you can get the jump on them early you should be ok.

love the tip....but unfortunately I already do that, I'm just terrible at the game haha. This is the first version I've owned and I'd like to think I'll improve quickly.

Always good to see another aussie on here, thought i was the only one haha. You'll get better given time , playing around with pitching and hitting controls might be beneficial to find what works best for. Personally i use pulse pitching because i suck with the meter and analog pitching. I'd suggest playing with your camera too , makes a huge difference for getting your eye in when batting.

Cheers mate - yea, I've been using pulse pitching too as I worked out pretty quickly I couldn't do the others, haha. I'll check out my camera setting and see if that helps too.

So I'm just down to Shawn Green now.....he is going to be the death of me. I noticed that others said that they'll just quit out of games if it doesn't start the way you need it to (ie. a hit in the first inning).

I'm thinking I might need to be doing that too instead of mucking around with full games.....but just curious to know what happens with your record/stats when you do that? Is there even a Win/Loss history of your conquest games anyway? Does it impact the players stats at all such as games played or win/loss for a pitcher if you quit out?

Correct. I did them all in Play vs CPU mode. Always choose to be visitor so you don't get cheated out of three outs because you have a lead going into the bottom of the 9th.

You definitely take the loss if you quit but those w/l stats are fairly meaningless so it does not matter. The player stats won't take a hit if they don't register an at bat before you quit.

Finally got past George Brett last night. Been struggling with that card mightily...would get one hit, but couldn't get the second one - let alone a double.

Then, in the game to take over the Twins stronghold, I went ahead and hit not one, but two doubles with him. Why not.

Another complete noob question here. When people talk about selecting stadiums that are good for doubles/HR etc......how do I actually do this? Whenever I play a game within conquest it is locked in to the stadium of the team that I am playing against.....and when I play vs CPU it seems to be the same. Am I completely missing something here or are you only able to select stadiums in other modes that I haven't ventured into yet?

You can't select stadium in conquest because you're always the away team. In play cpu mode you can selectto be the home side and then you can choose your stadium.

Cheers mate - that makes sense. I been playing as the away team to make sure I get 9 innings of bats but I might change to home so that I can pick stadiums (or just keep playing against Detroit / Rockies etc.)

All I have left now is George Brett and then whatever the AL hitting/pitching stats are. This George Brett card sucks so much.

He does.....by far the worst and longest mission I had. You have to try and swing late with him too push a double the other way. Total pain in the ***. I found getting the stolen base with Dale Murphy a pain since it wouldn’t count his steal in the double steals for some reason butI did manage it after about 12 games. The CPU is way too good at puck offs this year

FINALLY got thru Eric Karros and Shawn Green this morning. Took me 9 innings, forcing in some opponent runs via intentional walks to ensure a longer game, but I finished these fools in the same game. Thank the baseball gods.

Now, onto the AL/NL hitting and pitching stats missions...

I'm still working on capture mode, I still need to complete the missions for George Brett, Shawn Green, Dale Murphy, and Martinez. The George Brett one specifically is making me rage. He is by far the worst card I've had to play with. I have had good contact and good timing wiht him more times than I can count and it is still such a weak lazy fly ball, or weak ground ball. You guys have any times for these guys, or having issues of your own?

Yes for sure the George Brett one is the hardest. I have all of them except Brett and J.D. Martinez as of now and I'm on my second go around on Conquest
