Re: MLB 09 "Road To The Show" thread
I hope not either. I had something weird happen for me too just now. Went to quit and instead of going back to the xmb or whatever it's called it just went black and I heard 2 or 3 quick beeps but it was still on. Stayed like that so I had to flip the switch in the back.Comment

I get that every once and a while (not just this game), never understood why....Comment

Re: MLB 09 "Road To The Show" thread
I just saw what I think you saw. I think what you saw was the camera spinning around into the stadium and those flashes were the crowd in front of the camera.Saw something really weird earlier. I was pitching with a guy on first and threw a curveball that went in the dirt while the runner was taking off. A freaky, jumbled pictured suddenly flashed on the screen. In thought the game was going to lock up, but everything was fine (though the runner stole). It was a blink and you'd miss it kind of thing, but still weird.Comment

Re: MLB 09 "Road To The Show" thread
Could've been. It happened far to fast for me to be able to distinguish what it was, but that may have been it.
Just finished my first Spring Training (with my SP) and a couple of thigs:
1) I think that all of my runs were given up on homers. I keep knocking that power slider down, but them keep jacking them out.
2) Is it even possible to be charged with a fielding error? At least three plays come to mind that were routine grounders that were bobbled horribly and were not credited as errors.Last edited by metal134; 03-05-2009, 01:53 AM.A screaming comes across the sky...Comment

Re: MLB 09 "Road To The Show" thread
So i got drafted by the Phillies and spring training was going real well, i had a real excellent outing against the Yanks, 5 IP, 2 H, 0 ER, 2 K. But i followed that up by getting shelled by both the Redsox and the Rays so i was given a 2 year deal as a AA bullpen pitcher. With 3 days to go in the first month of the season i was promoted into the starting rotation. Here's hoping i can continue my sucess.Comment

Re: MLB 09 "Road To The Show" thread
I finally started mine and I'll keep a thread on it in the Dynasty Forum. A little abstract on my RTTS, I was drafted by the Red Sox as a RF and after two games in spring training, I'm 1 for 7 with 2 strikeouts.
Detailed stuff on my RTTS will be kept in my Dynasty Forum Thread. :wink:Comment

Re: MLB 09 "Road To The Show" thread
I just got through Spring Training, my 2nd game in AA ball, after the game, I hurt my wrist, and they put me on the 60-day DL.
So whenever the roster update comes out (is it out yet), I am going to start another one as a Pitcher.Comment

Re: MLB 09 "Road To The Show" thread
so i had an interesting night. played through most of the 2010 season from April to early August.
I finished last year in AAA with the Marlins but was sent to their AA-affiliate Jacksonville Suns as the starting SS in 2010. Continued to put up decent numbers as they had me in the 2-hole behind a speedster.
Around May the three hitter on the team got called up to AAA so they moved me down to the 3-hole in the lineup. Nice honor but my guy really isn't setup to be an RBI guy. I have like high 40s contact but limited power (like 35) and have been concentrating on speed and fielding.
So now all my in-game goals have moved from "get on base" or "don't strike out" to "drive that guy in." Not good times.
So I struggle a bit, and in the meantime i'm getting some just ridiculously hard career goals. In one case I had three stats they wanted me to increase. I spent all my points during the period on just one of these stats (arm accuracy) and wasn't able to move it enough to achieve the goal. The stat goal was .990 fielding percentage which leaves little margin for error. One bad throw and you're done.
So this went on for three straight periods. The organization was getting pissed i wasn't meeting my goals. I was getting pissed as the dumb goals they were setting.
Things came to a head around July 1 when they benched me and started playing the backup 3B at SS. So here I was the number 1 SS in the league, the last of three in the organization at a thin position, and i'm a backup to some schmuck.
Ironically I got named to the Southern League All-Star Game and played three innings despite the fact I wasn't even a starter on my team.
So a few weeks pass, I nail my next set of goals but i'm still just a pinch hitter. So I asked to be traded.
It takes about .2 seconds for them to work out a deal and i'm now heading to the Orioles AA affiliate, the Bowie Baysox.
I am literally with Bowie for a weekend before getting called up to the AAA team the Norfolk Tides. Here i'm a spot starter and utility fielder, actually starting a number of games at both SS and 3B.
In my first game with Norfolk I'm pinch hitting in the 8th. I get the in game goal to drive in the runner from second base in a tight game. Going down 0-2 I think i'm in trouble. I fight off a pitch to stay alive. Then check swing on what was almost strike three. Then take a pitch high and inside. The next pitch is right in my hot spot (low and inside) and I belt it straight down the line for a 3-run homer.
Welcome to Virginia!
A few weeks so far in Norfolk and things are going good. I've been on fire during my playing time and hitting over .400, with 3 dongs and an OPS over 1.000.
One good thing is i'm finally at the point where my points into speed are starting to make a difference. I'm up to 65 speed, 30-something base running ability and 20-something aggressiveness. I'm at the point i'm stealing about 60 percent of my attempts.
In another game with Norfolk they put me in as a pinch runner in the 9th. I was the tying run with 1 out. I was able to get a super jump and steal second base, doing my best Dave Roberts impression. Sadly the hitters on the team suck though. One guy popped out, the other struck out.
So, things are going well. Should be able to finish out the season today when I get home and see where I go from there. If you can read this, you don't need glasses.Comment

WOW!! I wish I could have one game like that
Thats how it works sometimes. You need a change of venue to do your best stuff. I'm glad you found a spot to get on track. So a few weeks pass, I nail my next set of goals but i'm still just a pinch hitter. So I asked to be traded.

Re: MLB 09 "Road To The Show" thread
Bly, the Oriole fan in me hope that you can get to the big club as a SS and help fill a void left by "8". If you do man, they have speed for days I would assume. Robert, Jones, Pie, Freel. In real life they better be running like crazy on the base paths! LOL. Good to see you in AAA though.
Chilli, that is a real nice line. I only have one complete game thus far and things are going as smoothly for me in AAA as they were in AA. I'm still the #5 SP for the Nats AAA ball club, but I've got 3 real nice pitches 4FB, Change, Slurve and my splitter is coming along nicely. I'm having so much fun playing RTTS as a SP. Here is my 5th start at AAA against the Devil Rays AAA team. Went 5 had a rough 3rd inning and got no run support. I'm still hoping for a September Call up but I don't know. A sub 2 ERA in AAA and over 4 in AAA. UGH.

Re: MLB 09 "Road To The Show" thread
I'm with the Connecticut Defenders (San Fran's AA club)...man we're horrible. After April I got promoted to starter, and my first game I had 6 innings, gave up 1 ER (1 unearned due to my stupid teammate's error), and got the no decision. No run support, our team was 2-7 at home, 7-7 on the road last I checked.
I may have been drafted by the Giants, but I can't wait to get traded from this team. Right now I'm just trying to up my pitches and my /9 stats. My sinker doesn't have enough movement yet, and my fastball's ok but nothing great.Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment
