It might only work if you are on the 40 man, since if you get DFA'd you would have to clear waivers.

Yes, you get a bigger house, better cars, and hotter women. I'm assuming that you mean in the game though. The answer is no. Just more for your career earning number.

They should add the ability to buy custom equipment or trainers or something with your cash in next years version....say like a glove that gives you +5pts to your stamina or control.

This has probably been answered already, so you have permission to yell at my laziness of not wanting to read 50+ pages of posts.

Anyway...I absolutely HATE the new running controls in RTTS. I'll probably get used to it eventually, but I screw it up constantly. It's just not intuitive to me, and I'm failing some goals because of it.

Is there a way to revert back to the old baserunning controls?

I think most/all of us hate it. But yes, we just have to suck it up and get used to it unfortunately.

Re: MLB 09 "Road To The Show" thread

Here's what I did with my new RTTS (First one crapped out on me):

I'm an 18 y/o 3B prospect (as you'll see soon in my Dynasty page) and was drafted in the first round by the Angels. After spring training (I hit around .280) they offered me a AA bench contract for $60,000.

I declined it and decided to see if someone would pick me up during the season. I received several contract offers of as much as $120,000 3 year AA starting 3B contract with the Padres, but it was already the month of August, so I decided to go into free agency during the off season.

I was offered several contracts in the off season as well (3 at a time was on my offer page) by MANY teams including the Red Sox and Yankees, although as a bench player in AA.

I decided on a 3 year, $90,000 contract to be the everyday 3B with the Reds AA Mudcats team. After 15 games or so I'm hitting around .290 with a homerun, handful of RBI's and loving it.

I just finished my first year in AA. I hit .290, 5 HR's, and 50 RBI's. I'm not in 2010 and I got promoted to AAA in the off-season as the backup LF..I'm stoked to play for Tacoma (Mariners drafted me)..hopefully I can work my way to the starting line-up and get a September call-up.

                          I'm loving these stories...

I had a HUGE spring (Veteran level) with my Padres as a 3B. Batted .321 with 4 bombs. They signed me to a 3-yr 90K deal to be on the AA bench! Ugh.

Well, after a month (and making all but one of my advancement goals) I'm the starter. I got hot early but have cooled off considerably of late. Only hitting .289 now with no HR's.

I'm loving the challenge, and the practice modes are AWESOME!

Still can't wait for Knight's rosters so I can start my DM pages (links below).

I am in year 2015 now. I am having a huge year, my attributes are finally up where I want them (contact for both are at 72, power at 64, speed at 44). I am batting .360 with 12 dingers, 44 RBI, .370 OBS%, .670 SLG%, 21 stolen bases at the all-star break. I was third in the voting for the all-stars under A-Roid and Longoria. I obviously did not make the all-stars.

The funny part about my RTTS is that I was traded to the Red Sox after season 4 and low and behold, Jeter plays for the Sox. It is really wierd seeing him in a Sox uniform. I won the starting 3B job over Alex Gordon.

I hope to keep tearing it up after the break so I can start making some serious cash and make some all-star appearances in the next couple of years. Kind of hard though when you got to compete with A-Roid and Longoria every year.

ST of 2011 for me, and I forgot how to hit again, so I went from the majors all the way back to AA bench.
