Re: MLB 09 "Road To The Show" thread

After being traded to the Padres and assigned to San Antonio, I really hit a slump and my average dipped down in to the mid .220's.

Last month of the season I got hot, and I ended the season on a high note.

Here are the final numbers for 2009.

I started playing my Pitcher again. I'm in Triple A on the Iron Pigs (what a great team name). I think my left fielder hates me. On two consecutive lazy fly balls to deep left, he jogged about as slow as anyone I've ever seen, then at the last minute makes a half arsed dive at the ball (and misses.) The worst thing is that even though the announcers said that he screwed up, they were scored as doubles, not errors. Frustrating to say the least.

Still having a blast though. I'm finding pitching on All-Star difficulty to be tougher than last year, but that is a good thing. I was going to move up to Hall of Fame if it was the same (as I had a hard time not having a season long ERA under 2 last year)

Haven't updated the blog yet but in year 3 i'm in the bigs. First hitter I face Jimmy Rollins who is now a Met HR. I would give up three of them and leave the game with a 10+ ERA. But these new nats took 2 of three from then and I got a nd.

dude Im in the same boat! I hit 331 my first year of AAA and got a sept call up where I hit a modest 267. red sox resigned manny and I only got 13 at bats in ST and hit 316 with my final hit being a go ahead homer in the last game of the season. now Im in AAA for the season and Im only hitting like 113 and striking out half the time. its crazy but Im loving that you can be so hot and cold in the game so Im just waiting to break out of my slump

Did you start season 3 in the bigs? I'm in season 3, and I keep getting the message, "Sorry, but the 40 man roster is full. You're ready, but there's no room."

              2) Blue means that the attribute is stabilized while the orange bar means it's declining. So you'll want to train a little in the areas that turn orange so that you don't lose ability.

              3) Yes, the batting practice adds to your ability and is permanent as long as you don't neglect it in the future.
Thank you for the reply. I am still confused by the blue and orange bars in the training section. So the blue bar means stablized and orange means declining. Is the goal to get those 2 bars to match up in terms of the length of the bar? I put 130 points into training for hitting power, and it didn't seem to make a difference. How do i get my max numbers to increase. For example, my power right now i think is at 45, how can i get the max of 45 to increase to say like 60 or higher? Again any help would be appreciated by this RTTS newcomer.

orange bar means that stat is declining, as in getting lower. You NEVER want to see orange bars.
After batting practice the yellow bar is current level and the blue bar is a percentage of the yellow bar that you have filled up. The yellow bar goes up as you fill the blue bar...

Hit .212 in 212 ABs for Oakland's AA team. OBP and Slugging under .300. Brutal.

And just got traded to the Brewers for Carlos Villanueva...

May mess with a couple sliders, been playing on default All-Star.

I have blue and orange together, with orange being current progress, blue being small attribute points and red being declining attributes.

Is anyone else having the problem of not getting spring invites after the first year? I didn't play 08 so I'm not sure if its normal or not.

If you took too long to sign your contract then it happens
