I just had one of my better games. Started off with two doubles, each resulting in 2 RBIs, homered (no one on unfortunately), and had a single. I was disappointed after the game, though, because I probably could have had a triple on one of the doubles if I had tried. Would have been nice to cycle.

When did you realize you could get the cycle? Nice hitting.I just had one of my better games. Well I just had two more starts. First one I pitched very well, sorta. Got pulled in the 7th but left the game tied with one on. We won and I got some decent points. But my next start was some straight up BS. The ump was pinching me all game. Had the zone tighter than a virgin. I wound up giving up like 5 runs cause of this jerk. I wish there was a way to argue with the umpire in this game cause honestly I wouldn't care if I got tossed with this ahole. First time I ever saw the ump be consistent with screwing me. I feel like telling my catcher to "catch an arm cramp" on this high fast ball the next time he's behind the plate.Comment

Re: MLB 09 "Road To The Show" thread
It all happened in the order I mentioned. So once I hit the homer (in the 6th IIRC) I thought to myself, 'Damn, I should have been more aggressive on that first double.' Then I got the single in the 8th I believe. Oh well, just another thing to keep shooting for.
I only play on the default difficulty. I should probably consider going up a level. I'm hitting too well for only having a "C" contact.Comment

Btw for you guys using tinypic, photobucket, etc. I don't know if you're aware but you can upload photos to OS in your Arena. It takes the PNG files right from your PS3 and doesn't require editing.
To put them in your thread just go into your album, right click on the picture, go to properties and get the direct URL to the file.
EDIT: Actually looks like you need to resize them first. If you can read this, you don't need glasses.Comment

Re: MLB 09 "Road To The Show" thread
So I started off the season with the Orioles, and was struggling through a couple of weeks, hitting like .167 after my first 17 at-bats.
Then it was like somebody flipped a switch.
It started with my first MLB home run, a bomb that almost hit the factory in right field ...

The three run bomb was the beginning of a 2 for 4 game that earned me my first MLB player of the game honors ...
Well as good as that game was, the next was better.
That was my home run in the 5th. Another bomb that traveled over 400 feet.
Then in the 9th, I belted a triple down the left field line ...
The line for the game?
Since then i'm continued the torrid pace. I'm currently fourth in the league in hitting at .379 with 2 HR, 5 RBI, 2 steals and an OPS of 1.069.If you can read this, you don't need glasses.Comment

Re: MLB 09 "Road To The Show" thread
well not a bad place to be. I can see a hotel I stayed in once for work so that's cool lol.
give it a season or two and the birds could be nasty. there are three of us I played in the minors with starting on the team right now, so if my guy and them progress well together we could be a powerhouse.
btw ... 2 for 4 against Cleveland with another jack and a double that almost started a rally against Kerry Woods in the 9th. up to .378 with an OPS of 1.135.If you can read this, you don't need glasses.Comment

Re: MLB 09 "Road To The Show" thread
UPDATE:
Rick Vaughn finally finished up his 2009 season with Chicago Cubs AA affiliate, the Tennessee Smokies. The Smokies wrapped up the first half of the season in full swing, however they let themselves go throughout the second half. In conclusion, they managed to slip into the Playoffs only to be defeated by the Jacksonville Suns in the SLCS.
Although it wasn't enough, Vaughn contributed 100% during the course of the Playoffs:

MLB NEWS:
Looks like the Phillies defend their title!

Cubs ran away with their division but like The Smokies, they couldn't seal the deal in the playoffs either.

Cubs look solid heading into the 2010 season making some adjustments to their line-up/pitching staff.

Re-sizing is cake with paint. It'll take me a while to get photoshop again ever since my computer got the re-format weeks ago.Btw for you guys using tinypic, photobucket, etc. I don't know if you're aware but you can upload photos to OS in your Arena. Does the OS Arena have a bandwidth limit? If not, I'll be using that instead.Comment

Re: MLB 09 "Road To The Show" thread
I came up to bat with 2 outs and the bases loaded in game 3 I think it was of the ALCS against the tigers. we were down 6-2 and I hit a grand slam to tie the game and we ended up winning 13-6. went on to the series against the mets. came up to bat in the bottom of the 10th in game six tied 5-5 man on first no outs. I was 0-6 so far that day but I singled to move the guy to second, so I got the hit that put the guy in scoring position for the next batter and we won the series in 6 games.Comment

Re: MLB 09 "Road To The Show" thread
I'm slumping bad right now, at a bad time to slump. I feel like if I catch fire I could get a September callup, but it's the middle of August and I'm on a severe cold streak, I'm batting like .160-something in my last 10 games. Not good, I came here to get my mind off the game for a little bit. I think staring at the screen for so long has clouded my judgment.Comment

Re: MLB 09 "Road To The Show" thread
I need some help. Right now, I have four pitches for my SP [Rising Fastball, Circle Change, 12-6 Curve, Splitter]. I want to add a fifth pitch, but I don't know which I should add. I was thinking some sort of a fastball, because my off-speed seems set. Any suggestions?Chicago Cubs - Chicago Bears - Milwaukee Bucks

Re: MLB 09 "Road To The Show" thread
I just saw this - thanks a lot for the help. I had no idea you could do this. I would have saved pictures from some of my dominant performances in Resistance 2, hah. What a great feature.Hey Mike, first thing you're going to do in order to capture whatever screenshot you desire, hit the PS button while in gameplay (which will bring you to the XMB Menu) - there you will slide over to the "Photo" section where you'll see a "highlight screen shot" or something along that nature. Click that and it'll take you back to the game where you simply hit "X" to take the picture and it will automatically save it to your HDD.
When you QUIT the game, slide back over to the "Photo" section and copy the pictures to a flash drive so you can export them via Photobucket or TinyPic.Comment

Re: MLB 09 "Road To The Show" thread
AAA Indianapolis I'm batting .333 and am 2nd on the team in RBI's. But since I only completed 2 out of the 4 achievement goals the manager benches me for some scrub batting .200 and only 2 homeruns. Disgusted, I ask for a trade but it is denied because 'I'm too valuable to the organization' (this is the Pirates so I completely understand). So next game I hit back to back home runs and go 4 for 4. I ask for my starting job back and the manager says 'sure thing'. lolComment
