Re: PS2 Impressions thread
I play with roster control off so I can't check up on this but are the lineups going wacky in franchise like in the PS3 version? I did notice that they were screwed up on default so I fixed them but am unable to see if they switched back once I started the franchise. Anybody know?Comment

Re: PS2 Impressions thread
I got 09!!!
Will post impressions later.
So pumped.
I got 2k9 and was mortified by the AI issues, went back to The Show 08 and was stunned by how much better a last gen title can be.
2k should be ashamed and I doubt I ever give them money again.Comment

Re: PS2 Impressions thread
360 owner here. I've pretty much talked myself out of 2K9 (maybe a rental), so I'm thinking of getting 09 for PS2 (I desperately want the PS3 version but I don't think I can justify dropping all that $$$!!!). So a couple questions:
- Franchise mode: is it as detailed/full-featured as the PS3 version? Are there things like 40-man roster, September call-ups, minor league options, etc? Are there any omissions or bugs about which I should know?
- Roster glitch: is it present in the PS2 version?
- Any other missing features?
THANKS! After my two exams tomorrow I plan on rewarding myself with some 2009 video game baseball.Comment

Re: PS2 Impressions thread
Thanks to whoever answered my earlier question. This is still a great game. I guess I only have two concerns. One, how will this thing look now that I have it on an HDTV (either 26" or 42"). Some PS2 games, like PowerPros look pretty darn good, while other ones look distorted and are full of jaggies.
Two, I remember loving the gameplay of The Show 07, but I thought the menus were a pain in the butt. There was no rhyme or reason to how FA's were sorted, and I spent a ton of time wasted in menus. Also, they used that energy bar system, as opposed to a simple number rating system.Comment

Re: PS2 Impressions thread
The glitch is not there. Tried it out last night. Also, Kolbe confirmed a few weeks ago they had addressed it.Last edited by tinpanalley; 03-06-2009, 02:53 AM.Comment

Re: PS2 Impressions thread
So the only thing is schedules. It's impossible to patch the game without a HD so i'm guessing PS2 owners are left out. Oh well, great game anyways and I'll be buying soon.Comment

Awesome. I can live with last-gen graphics with great gameplay and a $30 price tag.Comment

Re: PS2 Impressions thread
So it is in fact true that the schedules are messed up? I haven't looked in franchise/season mode yet. But if it is.....most cubs home games being played at night? Thats pretty lame.
...and I cant believe the rosters aren't working yet. I mean it seems like it was the same problem as the PS3 and they have had those fixed for a while now. I think they probably just said screw it for the PS2 and PSP roster update. Well probably just have to wait until the next one is released.Comment

Re: PS2 Impressions thread
Can you check if the schedule problem is on the PS2 version? Nobody has actually checked yet.Comment
