I forget his name, but the ace from Cleveland, I think Lee?. I had 4 hits off of him on Vet with the Nats. One of them was a homer for my only run. I admit, I'm not great at hitting by any means. So I decided to drop down to rookie since I'm new to the game. After dropping down, I decided to play him again, but this time with the Dodgers. The results were worse. Shut out with only 3 hits. Both times he pitched a complete game.

One more thing I want to add. I LOVE THIS GAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, I have to say Lincecum now and Justin Duscherer. Although Duscherer is the only pitcher I have seen throw in all 9 spots of the strike zone in the first inning. Each pitch something new anywhere close to the zone or he can pinpoint it.
Lincecum is just that bananas school kid, with old school ish.

I always do good against guys like Verlander and Zumaya. It makes my job easier when all I have to look for is a fastball.

I have the most trouble with junk pitchers like Paul Byrd, heh. They toss around multiple pitches and their locations vary greatly (whether by design or by lack of control) which has me guessing after every pitch and makes me look foolish a lot of times.

I got him for four runs in 5 innings last night with the Marlins, then couldn't hit the bullpen at all and lost the game 7-4. Can't explain that one at all, but two of those runs came on one good pitch I got with Hanley Ramirez that I demolished, possibly my most gratifying home run ever given how far it flew and that it came off Lincecum.

Lincecum. 11k's. Dude's 4-seem, 2-seem, change up combo makes me dizzy. His curve is the only thing I can hit.

The worst is when he throws that 2-seemer as a meaty pitch, but his speed on it is so deceptive that I cannot time it.

Sorry for bumping an old thread but I had to reply to this lol.

I literally DESTROYED Becket in mlb 09. 9 runs in only 2 innings. with 5 homeruns from my Yankee team under all-star, and this was my first time facing him in the game lol. Guys like Beckett and Verlander that rely on the fastball are easier to hit in my opinion. I just adjust to their curve balll and look for the Fastball mainly.

For me the toughest Pitcher I've faced are low level pitchers from the Baltimore Orioles that nobody has heard of before . I always have a tough time tracking & timing their pitches since there so wild in the zone. They've kicked my a*ss plenty of times for some odd reason lol.

I have a hard time hitting slow throwing pitchers that slow and slower pitching screws me up everytime.

I agree. If they have a bunch of different stuff it's harder to hit off of them. I hate pitchers that range from 99 MPH to 56 MPH

I agree Jamie Moyer owns me, that crafty lefty with all that slow stuff, I get very frustrated facing him.

what throws me off more than nasty stuff are deceptive deliveries. With guys like C.C., Beckett, and Greinke, I can semi-adjust by the 3rd, 4th inning or so..

what kills me is guys with unorthodox motions where it is hard to pick up the ball out of their hand. I can't think of any prime examples right now. when I do, I'll get back to you.

In 08, Oswalt was tough for me with that 12-6 curve.

In no particular order: Jimenez, Lincecum, Peavy, Greinke, Javier Vasquez and CC among others, all can be used to good effect but I'm surprised nobody mentioned Joba Chamberlain, he probably gives me the most trouble, that Fastball - Change up combo is tough and add the 2 seamer in the equation he can be down right nasty.
