I have the most trouble with guys who use a sidearm-style delivery. The worst would be Pat Neshek. I get mad whenever I see him walking to the mound...

The biggest thing I find with him is you have to be extremely patient. Forcing him to a hitter's count makes him throw his piddly fastball which leads to big innings. I used to approach him hacking like a fool. The more you swing at it the knuckle the more he throws it. You just have to make him play your game!

For me the toughest pitcher to face was Roy Oswalt. His fast ball was tough, but his change of speeds with that insane curve ball always seemed to have me out in front...even if I knew exactly what was coming.

Took me a while to figure him out in last year's game but now I can finally be at least somewhat competitive against him.

I pretty much own CC in The Show 09, I usually give him a quick exit... I roughed him up using The Orioles once, homered with Matt Wieters and Ty Wigginton in the same inning. Maybe I've played so much against him that I have his release point engraved in my mind.

As far as lefties go though, I have a hard time against Jon Lester though, when I face him for a challenge. And Tom Glavine, god his stuff is deceptive. For righties, I actually remember having the most trouble against Barry Zito! His curve is ridiculous, and he throws it for strikes.

Like others, I think I can handle the hard throwing pitchers easier, like Joba, than the guys who use crazy deceptive slow breaking stuff.

Webb, especially after Razr's pitch edits.

I can't anyone with a slider, 2SF, or RFB as their main and best pitch. And anyone with a nasty 12-6 curve. or slurve.
That pitch looks great a nice slow hanging curve ball, man I get all excited and can't wait to smash it, and then BAM! I swing and the ball is dirt and the pitcher rung me up..

Can I throw a hitter in here?
I play a season with my Classic Rosters......1986 Mets vs. 1978 Pirates.
In game one...Willie Stargell was 3 for 4...2 homers and a double....5 RBI. In this next game...I take Sid Fernandez against him(and assorted other pitchers...it went 14 innings)...and he goes 6 for 7 with 3 homers and 2 doubles.....another 8 RBI! In two games 5 homers.
I had to intentionally walk him in the 14th(I had already given up the lead).
                      Lost 11-9.
He's a freak in this season.
(if I hit Pitt in the playoffs..I ain't pitchin' to him)

Does this happen to anyone else?

I swear the this game can read minds . Whenever I'm getting shut down by someone, I'll say to myself, "OK. Work the count here and getting into a good hitters count." I decide to take a pitch and 9 out of 10 times the pitcher throws a belt high meatball and it's 0-1. Then the next time I swing, it's a pitch on the black, I get jammed for an easy out. It plays mind games with me because then I'm still steaming that I let a hittable pitch go by. The next thing I know I'm pitching again after a 1-2-3 inning while seeing only 8 total pitches. Damn you SCEA for making this so damn good but frustrating all at the same time.
