When you check swing on something high, "Yeah EEEEEEEEASY there on the swing. Thats to high to go after after." It annoys the hell out of me the way he says easy.

Just about anything Rex says.
Hopefully SCEA will listen to many of us and chuck Rex. How many installments has he said the same thing? He's not funny, he's not cute. He really takes away from what Matt does. I cringe whenever Rex chimes in because he repeats himself and he's, did I say not funny.
Two man booth with Dave interacting with Matt.

Re: Most Annoying Lines By The Announcers
I second this. Couldn't agree more."watch your lips, chuck and duck!"
".....get down get down get down....hang with em!"
"shake yourself"
"and thats gotta be a deflating feeling to get called into the game and quickly dispatched from whence you came"
the fact that I can type those almost word for word by memory is a bad sign that they repeat a bit too often. Pretty much anything Rex says is annoying....he constantly reminds me I am playing a video game.Comment

Re: Most Annoying Lines By The Announcers
I'd love to see a two man booth with anyone besides Rex as color man...too bad 2k nabbed Steve Phillips, because I think he's great...
Also, it'd would be extra cool if it was even maybe a 3 man booth, or 2 man booth with a field reporter chiming in once in a while...Comment

Re: Most Annoying Lines By The Announcers
Never heard that one...odd
"the first base coach has to do a little Skip to My Lou"...I think they've toned this one down a bit, as I haven't heard it as much this year...it was really prevalent in '08.Comment

Re: Most Annoying Lines By The Announcers
"and thats in there at 95, wont see many of those in batting practice"
"and seeing as I dont know a heck of alot about any of these guys....i'd say THIS guy is a guy to watch"
"quit walking guys...lets go"
"quit laying em in there meat" (funny the first 138 times)
I will add, I have listened to Rex on live broadcasts, and he's not bad...fairly entertaining and insightful, so what he is doing on The Show is playing a part, the jester, clown, crazy-guy and it just does not work when you play the game as much as we do. Even if they were good lines they would go stale FAST since they always seem like he just stuck his head in the booth and shouted something completely disconnected from Matt and Soup.Comment

Re: Most Annoying Lines By The Announcers
Anything Rex says when the pitching coach comes up to talk. "Quit laying it in there, meat." "QUIT WALKING GUYS!" All of that. I might have walked one guy, and he comes up and says it. That annoys me.
I guess that's more game mechanics than Rex, but Rex makes it harder to stomach.Fan of the Toronto Blue Jays and Toronto Maple LeafsComment

Re: Most Annoying Lines By The Announcers
How about when you play in Cleveland and if you hit a home run to left field towards the Quicken Loans Arena, Rex says "if he hit the ball a little further towards the arena Lebron probably would dunk it".Comment

And Dave Campbell always says "with this loss they'll drop 2 games below .500"
Thanks Dave but I'm already 7 games under.

Re: Most Annoying Lines By The Announcers
To me all of the lines regarding close strikes not called and balls on the corners are way to overused. In a real game a commentator isn't gonna point out a blown call like that every time, and sometimes they might even think that the ump made the right call. I'd like to see these bigger pool of these lines of commentary and for them to be used less.Cosmetic Guides to the Show v2 Rosters

I think I remember some guy that kept calling everybody "meat" in MVP 05. Drove me nuts. Especially when he would agressively yell it. I was thinking man I'd be embarassed to be in the seat next to that guy right now.Comment
