Nothing's wrong with the stadium, it's the team that plays there that's the problem

haha, but for reals...just curious, what needs to be fixed? What did the OP had in mind?

I too think it is one ugly looking stadium. I just hate the color palette they used. Even with that said, I would like it to be right in the game as well.

SCEA weren't given much official info and I believe that their photographer was turned away when he went there to take pics. Because of this, they had to mostly piece things together from preliminary artist renderings as to what Citi Field was planned to look like. Of course, as construction went on, some details were changed and there was no way for SCEA to know this in time to get those changes in the game. The most obvious difference is the color of the walls, in the game they are blue but in reality they are a dark green color.

On sort of a related note, I was lucky enough to go to the new Yankee Stadium on Saturday to see them pound the Cubs pretty bad (10-1). The new stadium is something to behold! The field itself is very reminiscent of the old stadium in a lot of ways, but when you are walking around the various fan areas of the park it's like you're in Disney World or some type of baseball nirvana or something. The Great Hall was gorgeous, they have a Yankees Museum that was amazing, the Hard Rock Cafe and other various restaurants, the list goes on (and yes, things are certainly extremely pricey $$$). On a sour note, the entire sound system crapped out in about the 6th inning so everything went quiet for the rest of the game. No music or announcements of any kind, it was weird. I think the PA blew out from all the Westminster Chimes blaring after the HR's by Jeter (1) & Teixeira (2). Oh well, I guess that's why they had these dress rehearsals, so they can work out the kinks before the real games start. I haven't looked at the stadium in The Show since I came home yet, but from what I can remember they pretty much nailed it for the most part.

Oops, I almost forgot this thread is about the Mets' park...they have a new place too right?

I wasn't at the game, but I can tell you this. I would have loved the silence between innings. These days, your senses are assaulted every second between innings...music...loud clips on the scoreboard screen...commercials...etc. It is relentless. I know I am an old timer, but back when I went to games you had a chance to talk to people between innings. You could at least hear yourself talk then. Now they really discourage that. We'd talk about what happened in the previous inning, what was going on in other games that day based on out of town scoreboard, etc. No more.

The NBA is even worse...I hate it.

Honestly the game's version is better looking than the real version.

you guys are ridiculous. citi field looks amazing and is easily one of the most beautiful stadiums in baseball. you're going to complain and call it "putrid" because the outfield walls are painted black? the puke green in fenway is ok with you?

I was skeptical about CitiField but it is an incredible stadium. Haters take note.

Thanks for taking the time to post your pics. They look great.

That board with the line-ups (that was highlighted on Wright) was amazing, so clear.

I certainly hope my favorite team has many big games in your beautiful new stadium.

As much as I would love to hate on the new Tax Payer Field, and I believe me I would.. I just can't. It really is a good looking ball park and I'm looking forward to seeing the braves beat up on the mets in the beautiful new park as soon as possible.

And how can you call it putrid?! I mean c'mon... that's simply not the case. Granted, anything better than Shea is going to come away looking like the Sistine Chapel.

If the wall wasnt that horrid black it may look ok. That is the worst looking new stadium I've seen in my life!!

i don't LOVE the new citi field, but i don't hate it. All that i would have expected SCEA to change is...

                                1. color of the wall
                                2. add the line around the top of the wall
                                3. add some ad's and spice it up.

the citi field in the game is fine, but just feels like a minor league park with more stands.
