re: **All Trades Discussion Thread**
I've had my eye on Kinsler in my franchise for quite some time. 2B has been a real black hole for me lately. I had to move Chone Figgins there (added 2B as his second position since my fantasy team lets him play there), which worked well enough... but he retired and I've got nothing there. My current options are a mediocre hitter/decent fielder and an awful hitter/good fielder (and he's fast). Neither guy is anything more than an 8/9 type hitter. I also need a leadoff guy in the worst way, which Kinsler would do well.
Plus I'm a Missouri fan and he played for the Tigers. I always keep my eye on Joe Crede for the same reason (didn't play for Missouri, but is a big Mizzou fan).Comment

I pulled off a trade in the offseason to get Scott Kazmir from the Rays...
Cardinals get:
SP Scott Kazmir
Rays get:
SP Chris Carpenter
RP Jeff Bennett
Minor League prospect.
I improved in SP(Carpenter degressing) and lowered my payroll by about $4M dollars. Not a bad deal.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

However, I really like Matt Cain and have thought about trying to deal for him. Unfortunately, I have next to nothing to offer in the minor league system, and don't really want to trade any of my frontline players.
The CPU seems obsessed with Doug Brocail though! At least once, if not twice a week, I get trade offers for him. I probably should trade him, as he's 41 and can't have much left in the tank. He's effective as my set up man, but then again so is Latroy Hawkins (who is 5 years younger). The Phillies offered Ryan Madson for him, which seemingly would be the best deal I've been offered so far.Comment

re: **All Trades Discussion Thread**
Is the trade logic broken in this game? I have been able to get Pujols, A-Rod, and Ryan Howard. I gave up Youk and a player for Pujols. Aramis Ramirez (who I got by giving up Jed Lowrie and someone else) and Eric Patterson for A-Rod. And Ortiz and a reliever for Ryan Howard.
They are cheap moves but the intrest meter for every single trade was close to half a bar of intrest so are they that bad of moves?Comment

re: **All Trades Discussion Thread**
That's where you have to use your thought on how realistic/fair it is. The trade logic isn't that good in this game, and the people on the trading block is hilarious(although I'm glad the CPU doesn't trade everyone they place there). It definitely needs work, but for right now you're going to have to restrain yourself from ripping off the computer. Is the trade logic broken in this game? Second year I signed Brandon Webb for 20.5 mil a year and im seriously thinking about trading him, with Manny Parra being on a tear and hes 9-2 with a 1.78 ERA. and hes only making i think 1.2 mil a season. I could probabbly get a decent CF/SS with Cameron gone and Hardy out for the season. My Teams

i tell you in order to get kinsler you are going to have to give up your best player...but he is well worth it...i have him batting third now..and damn he is raking!!I've had my eye on Kinsler in my franchise for quite some time. 2B has been a real black hole for me lately. re: **All Trades Discussion Thread**
yah is right...damn i didnt notice until now lol..i try not to be a cheat lord knows how many times ive been rejected i think once a player on your team has a potential of A or B you can get just about anyone for him if you package correctly....so many times i try trading for a guy and the cpu says no...i'll throw pedro alvarez in the deal and the bar shoots damn near to the end....but im not trading that kid...so im guessing the cpu goes on potential and not "untouchable"Is the trade logic broken in this game? re: **All Trades Discussion Thread**
i am the reds and i some ideas
my problem is that bronson arroyo is hard to pitch with and he throws NO HEAT. I am thinking of moving him. I like Tavares and Bruce in the OF but right now Dickerson is injured so I could use an everyday LF. What do you guys think I should do? I also need a top notch SP, a utility upgrade over Hairston and a LH bat off the bench. any ideas?Comment

re: **All Trades Discussion Thread**
I just hit the all star break with my Brewers franchise and I have already made 2 big trades that really shake up my line up. I'm a little nervous about playing with a team that looks nothing like the Brewers anymore, but hey, that's whats fun about it right? Take risks, and hope the work out.
First trade:
Brewers Get -
Kevin Slowey
Anthony Swarzack
Jason Kuebel
Twins Get -
Bill Hall
Braden Looper
Chris Capuano
I realize this one isn't totally realistic, but the Twins always need that 3B and I have given them 2 MLB starters. While Slowey is a stud, Swarzack is just AAA material right now. I mainly wanted Kuebel in this trade as Mike Cameron is out for the season for me and I really couldn't keep starting Tony Gwynn Jr. I needed some power and Kuebel is giving me that. Sure, he hits for a low avg, but thats ok. Fits the brewers hitters make up.
2nd Trade:
Brewers Get -
Clay Buckholtz
Lars Anderson
Jed Lowrie
Red Sox Get -
JJ Hardy
Chris Duffy
Again, not totally realistic, but they really wanted Hardy, and Anderson (A potential 1B) was on the block. Thought I'd see if I could get Buckholtz out of the deal and it was no problem. I needed another SS so I added Duffy to the deal and was able to get Lowrie as well, who will now be my starting SS.
My brewers really are no threat to make the playoffs this year, so I'm trying to build my team for the coming years, and I think I've done that.
Here's my current "Brewers" lineup
2B Rickie Weeks
CF Corey Hart
LF Ryan Braun
1B Prince Fielder
RF Jason Kuebel
C Mike Rivera (traded Kendall for a RP earlier this year. brewers are deep at C in minors, and i drafted an A potential C)
3B Mat Gamel
SS Jed Lowrie
Pitchers are: Gallardo, Parra, Suppan, Slowey, Bush (with Swarzack, Buckholtz, Scarpetta, and a A potentional 19 yr old SP i just drafted this year waiting in the wings)
My team is going to struggle the rest of the year, but I think we'll be ok in the long run.
So go ahead and rip these for being unrealistic...Comment

re: **All Trades Discussion Thread**
Bucs fan, maybe you can rate a trade I was thinking of pulling off between ATL and PIT. Knowing what we know about this year and the Pirates, would this trade make sense? I actually want Maholm more than Nate but want to keep my roster realistic to what ATL has. The only way to do that though is to part ways with Schafer. I use Glavine sparingly and don't know how well he will fare against the Phillies when I need a lefty.
Pirates are about 15 games under .500 in my season.
ATL
Vazquez 6-4/3.70
Schafer .274/1hr/16rbi/16 SB
Bennett
PIT
Maholm 10-4/3.50
McClouth .285/8hr/30ish RBI/12 SBComment
