Consistency of appeals of the ump'.

If his strike zone is small, fine but it should be small for me and for the CPU...

I mean last night, he did not appeal the strike out on a nice 4SFB in the zone. So OK why not, he has his personnality... (didn't mind I give up a 3-run blast the pitch after...)
But when I load the bases, I want the same appeals. And for me at the plate I was called out... (didn't mind I grounded into a DP the next at-bat too...)

It could happened, but in this lone game, 4 times he didn't call the strike out when I pitch whereas I got send twice to my dugout on various calls...

    That is boring.

PS: I agree too on the check swing system which seems to favor CPU very often...

The fielding. It's always been a weak spot in the Show and it's even worse this year. The error slider didn't work right at all and the game often doesn't score the errors correctly when you actually see them. I went over 40 games without a single fielding error which is absurd. I'm not talking throwing errors as I see plenty of overthrows to first base. I'm talking booted and bobbled balls by my infielders. Just FAR too few when you use manual fielding.

I'd love to see more errors in addition to analog fielding possibly. Something to make the defensive gameplay more interesting and realistic.

Not having an in between option where I could overrule a cpu like MVP 05 just doesn't make any sense to me. It should be very easy to just let me have the cpu run and still give me baserunning controls to make changes when I see fit. Most baserunning decisions are basic and easy and I hate having to do 100% of them on manual.

          100% agree!

2K9 has much better catcher animations!

The Catcher in MLB the show always does what looks like a "pose" a lot after receiving the ball from the pitcher. Almost like he getting ready to throw the ball but just stands still. It looks strange.

            Fielding....plain and simple.

not enough user or cpu walks in the game. this causes many problems. there is no way to get your on base percentage anywhere near a realistic number which causes your OPS to be way out of wack. If you want to get on base, you better get a hit. Yes, I do get some walks, but no way you are walking 100+ times with an Adam Dunn in the Show. it's too hard to run up a realistic pitch count on either the User or CPU pitchers. Well, you can get the CPU pitchers to a 3 ball count and then they seem to pound the strike zone. Get a 3 ball count and look dead red and you'll probably be successful. Actually, after 2 balls, this seems to be the case. While a can get the CPU over 100 pitches, on occasion, you aren't going to see someone go to 120 or 140 pitches, ever.

I'll walk a few guys with my pitchers, but my pitcher's walk totals are nowhere near correct. My starting 5 is always top 5 in fewest walks allowed.

This badly needs to be fixed.

Im not sure if this is game play but every game is close. Every game is one or two runs. Bring back game variety. Even when I simulate seasons the closers have 54,55 saves. I hate to break the rules but on the off chance this is not considered game play I would have to say the wild pitch slider needs to be brought back.

I agree. It would be nice to see good catchers actually block balls too. It seems that every bad pitch gets to the backstop. They could certainly use a lot more variety in the outcome of a bad pitch.

Something that bothered me was when i would unsuccessfully dive with any of my infielders to get a ground ball or a line drive but instead the ball went to the outfield, my outfielder would dive too.

This is a tough one. The AI knows the ball will be in the outfield before you do and has the control moved to the outfielders causing them to flop. Unfortunately you are still trying to dive with your infielder to get the ball. I asked if they could slow down the AI assignments to the highlighted players but it did not sound like they could. Maybe they found a way in 10.

Can the outfielders act like they are actually paying attention? There is zero urgency when a ball is hit out there and a man is trying to advance.

PLEASE fix the check swing! 90% of the time the CPU says I swing. 90% of the time the CPU says the CPU did not swing. A little frustrating.
