Also, how come in the PSP version they go through the lineup naming the starters and even giving a few quips about them but just have a blank *crickets chirping* moment when going through the starting lineups in the PS3 version. Another 'huh?' moment. It's in the above youtube video as well.

This is a small nitpicky issue but it's going to catch up with SCEA if they don't improve in the future. It starts at audio then just snowballs to all other aspects.
Hudler was removed, not Campbell. And If I'm listening to the same line, it reads "To my left is Dave Campbell, to my right, Eric Karros, and Soup (referencing Campbell), let's begin with you...."

      ...what's wrong with that?

In a perfect world I would have Michael Kay and John Sterling.

I like Bob Costas, but I'd love to see a cast that would be entertaining and funny. What I love about watching baseball games a lot is when these guys actually manage to make you laugh

I would like them to get some voice actors rather than a "known" person. That way it would allow then to record TONS of commentary. That would be their job rather that having a knowing commentator come in and work with limited time.

I'm biased due to hearing them all the time, but Gary Thorne and Jim Palmer (who do the majority of Orioles games) would be great to listen to. Gary already does the 2K series as previously mentioned, but he's always enthusiastic about the game, and Palmer knows almost EVERYTHING about pitching. His analysis is always top-notch, and he and Palmer have great chemistry.

If not them, I would go with an MLB Network theme and either use Costas or keep Vasgersian and team them with any combination of Harold Reynolds, Kevin Millar and/or Al Leiter.

Do you guys think we should have like 2-3 broadcast teams? I would like to have every team have their own broadcasters but I know that's unrealistic. But I was thinking something like this:

Regular game (monday, tuesday, etc.)-Have Rex and vasgersian.

If you are the game of the week (i.e. Thursday night or Sunday night): Hershiser, Valentine and Shulman

Then have a completely different team for the playoffs. I think this would keep the game fresh.

i think its time for SCEA to stretch the limits. I know its easier said than done so I will leave it at that. I just think they are capable of doing more when it comes to the play by play (of course, just my opinion)

They need to have Mike Krukow and Duane Kuiper on there just like MVP Baseball 2005.

I think the commentary is at the bottom of their list. Online play needs the most attention before dishing out "bonus" commentary (as much as I'd like to see it).

And yes, MVP Baseball 2005 is still the best MLB game made, given it's era, in my opinion. Hope it returns with 2k's contract expiring.

Re: Who would you REPLACE the Commentary Team with...

As with every game, I think the show would benefit from multiple broadcast teams. I have always loved the idea of getting every teams individual announcers, as it would create incredible immersion. I know this is unrealistic to some degree, but those guys would be cheap, and you could charge it as DLC (say 30$ to download AL announcers, 50$ to download all, 5$ individually). It seems like they'd make money, but I know that would be difficult to implement into the game.

I'm hoping (assuming the above never happens), that they move to MLB.TV for a broadcast presentation. Package that with some Dynamic Commentary and I'm all set.

Re: Who would you REPLACE the Commentary Team with...

I am fine with Matty V, and Soup.

Karros is very bland, and sounds unnatural to me. It also seems as if you hear him say the same things over and over again. Not enough variety in his coments.

I would love to have Harold Reynolds replace Karros.

The biggest problem to me isn't who is doing the commentary. It's the canned feel of the broadcast team. They don't feel like they are speaking to each other, or even like they are in the same ballpark.

If the developers of this game could figure out a way to have the announers flow throughout the game, it would be one of the best improvements they could make IMHO. Even if the cost required them to hire voice actors, with fake names, over real life baseball personalities that would be fine. It just needs to sound more natural.

Wouldn't it be a kick if "Reggie Stocker" was the player personality? Just sayin.

Edit: One other thought. It would also be nice if during franchise play they mentioned things that happend the previous year, or years. Things like:

1.) Pujols picked up where he left off last year as you see the numbers from last season.

2.) Votto has had a rough start this season after his magical MVP a year ago.

3.) When winning back to back world series, mention that. I won back to back with the Cubs and Matty V said the same thing both times. When the last out is made they should make mention of it, "And there it is, Back to Back championships!" etc...
