I'm too concerned to turn on the PS3 and try it. My roommate is literally 90 minutes away from finishing Heavy Rain, and if his save got lost or the game didn't boot up, he'd lose his mind... so we're leaving the console OFF until hearing more information.

I probably won't have MLB '10 until 5:00pm tomorrow anyway, so hopefully there will be some word by then.

Once again, I have both a fat PS3 AND MLB the Show 10 and it IS working. I was unable to get online, but have been playing the game offline (franchise, RTTS) without any problem. I was just playing a couple hours ago and I am sure my PS3 was affected because the system date is 12/31/99.

I have a 60GB fat PS3.

thats good to know. I guess the next question would be for people who have the error, and got the show 10 after the error was in place....does the game work for them.

you guys who have posted that its working had the game installed before the error....so now we have to see if it can be installed after the error

i hope this is resolved before midnight tonight

I have just had the Show 10 delivered...I had the problem this morning when I powered the PS3 on - the internal date/time was reset. I have a 40Gb PS3 Fat..and the Show 10 is working on it.

You can't go online because of the issue with the PS3 - which looks to be a problem with the operating system or hardware relating to a calender problem

The issue is this:

Hundreds of thousands of PS3s are not booting a majority of games and cannot connect to PSN. The issue seems to be surrounding a clock error having to do with one hardware element of Flat bodied PS3s (ie, non-slim PS3s). Trophies, PSN user data, downloaded content, and so on, are not working and will not load. For many games, this forces the game to reboot and not start. So, for instance, Heavy Rain, Modern Warfare 2, and scores and scores of other games, will boot to the opening screen and then reset back to the PS3 menu. It is a significant hardware error related to the console expecting that today (March 1) is actually leap year (Feb 29), which it obviously isn't, and it is causing a calendar problem.

Some games will boot and work (sounds like MLB '10 is), but many are not. Reported "fixes" include removing the CMOS battery from the console, but that is totally ridiculous IMO and will void the system warranty as well as potentially totally kill the console if you make a mistake.

Additionally, Sony suggests that you follow them on Twitter for updates, but as far as I'm concerned, I think that's a cheap marketing ploy to encourage people to follow you when you're having major problems (ie, Toyota did the same thing and now they're just pushing Toyota PR to people whose lives they endangered). And they are working on a fix. For the time being, there is no other concrete information. Alls I know is, I'm not turning on my PS3 until I get more information.

so u have the error, but you were able to install it and play the game on your 40 gig system?

I have a 60GB Fat, and I tried booting MLB 09 with no luck

I really hope that MLB 10 works tomorrow, or I am going to be pissed!! I even took a personal day off to enjoy the new Show.
