Interesting... I boosted this slider all the way to the right... The slider description specifically mentions that it effects infielders...

I played one game and had maybe four total plays to first and third... Didn't see any sloppy play...

The good thing is it didn't seem to have any adverse effects either, like superhuman abilities. One game isn't a very good sample, but hopefully this helps. I'm thinking maybe slow reaction is causing those misplays you see at the corners... Those weak stabbing attempts at the ball...

If anyone can't get into auto fielding, try this out: Global Fielding Reaction maxed out to the right... Hopefully it works as a fix.

Anyone else finding that the meter throwing for your fielders seems to not charge up properly when using auto field and manual throwing? Or am i doing something wrong.

This uh... Doesn't work... Only a few games testing this and it's pretty evident that it doesn't really help at all.

I'm gonna have to try to live with auto fielding. Tired of seeing balls being misplayed at the corners.

I play on manual, with fielder reactions at default, and on assist, with fielder errors & throw errors set at 7. I'm in a Royals season ... So I have no gold gloves.

I find that if I preload the throw, so for a down the line grounder at 3rd, I hit circle button for third, rather try and 'run over the ball' or dive, that my players will make the play just as the CPU would ... But I'm the one driving the animation.

Much more authentic, and i feel like I'm controlling the player.

I picked up Justin Turner (went to college with him ) for my season and he's my starting 2B ... He's fielding .976 after 32 games with 48 assists and 19 putouts.

Thats 2 errors in 32 games, and they were throwing errors

I agree dude. I use auto-fielding, and manual throwing when fielding and pitching.

I've tried all different variations...including playing Manual with fielder reaction at 10 (currently I play with it at 9, with AutoFielding), and preloading my throw correctly. Nothing helps. And they don't classify those plays where the ball goes under/through the 3rd or 1st baseman as an error...so that isn't reflected in the stats.

Thanks for the info FluffyTonka.......I will try your method as I hate to give up on manual fielding.

I hope it works for you man ... Bcos I'm nothing special with the glove, and I find myself being on par with the CPU. At least on the infield. Outfield is a different story.

I find the CPU is god-like in the outfield ... I've made a few errors, but the CPU has made zero in about 60 odd complete games.

Because of this thread I finally tried it and did not miss it either. I may go back and try to make slider adjustments so that I also am the one driving animations, but I'll give my current change a few more games of a try.

I'll give this a try. I couldn't really live with auto fielding for too long, and had to go back to using assisted. I've also started using the high angle, which I think overall is the best. It also gives you more of a chance over "Medium" on grounders to corner infielders.

The one problem with "High" is that it's extremely difficult to see the ball during day games with this angle, so for day games I think I'll just go back to "Medium" or even just put it on auto.

Sweet. I came up with a solution to this: make adjustments on my TV's picture settings.

I intensified the color slightly, to help make the infield more green and the dirt more brown. Then I lowered the brightness too, which helped darken the infield while keeping the ball white.

I didn't get a chance to test this out much, but it made a immediate difference as the ball is much more visible. Though when I watch cable TV it now looks kind of off, but The Show takes priority.

Thanks for the info spit_bubble.........I will try the high fielding view with tv adjustments. You should be able to set individual video settings for your PS3 and cable viewing preference.

I'm gonna go straight home after work and try this out. I'm sick and tired of the ball just rolling by my 1st and 3rd basemen. I know they aren't the greatest on Defense (Butler and Gordon) but it happens all the time. Then I get very mad when the opposing team's corner infielders make wonderful plays.

Unfortunately my TV only allows for the same settings across all inputs, but really it's not that bad for watching cable TV.

I haven't got a good chance to really test all of this (FluffyTonka's suggestion combined with adjusting my TV's picture settings), but I can definitely say adjusting the picture settings makes a difference. You can really pick up the ball a lot better.

I also think on "High" you get the most time to react on hits down the lines, and so now being able to see the ball better can only help that much more.

edit: Plus "High" gives you a good view for the OF and tracking down fly balls... And it's the best view for home runs, as the camera will pan out a bit for a ball going into the stands.

I don't know, if there still is an issue with the corner infielders, then I'm just going to try my best to overlook it. I just don't like auto fielding.

My sliders for fielding on manual were Fielder Speed at 1 and Reaction at 6....is this still a good set for auto?
