    Re: Vulcanchange

This is how Eric Gagne threw his change up. It's just a different type of change grip.

I looked up some more info on this pitch and like Paolo mentioned it's just a change up thrown with a different grip. Eric Gagné pitched one also as mentioned above.

I can't find a video of it, but the only place I'd ever heard of Fosh Ball was High Heat Baseball on PS2. It was a form of a splitter from what I remember.

Rich Harden throws the FoshBall in real life. Its basically a changeup/splitfinger mixx thats almost like a split/knuckleball and dances.

Boddicker had developed the foshball while trying to learn a forkball at Iowa. The pitch slipped out of his hand, had a slight rotation and broke like a screwball. Boddicker labled it a "forkscrew," but Orioles pitching coach Ray Miller came up with "foshball," a cross between a forkball and a "dead fish" (another term for "changeup").

When Harden was with the A's, back up catcher Adam Melhuse coined the term a "Spuckle".
Most pitchers have to experiment with changeup grips and find one that works for them. That's why there are so many different types.

If anyone must know, I was just playing the AAA all-star game on my franchise and Ian Kennedy had the vulcan change as his second best pitch, acts just like a circle with a little more bite

Does anybody know of any other "hidden" pitches in the game? Is there an eephus floating around out there? (pun not intended)

if you change anyone of dice-k's pitches, you'll eventually find the Gyroball, definitely the best pitch in the game IMO, the vulcan-change that i saw in 09 didnt seem at all different from a normal circle change, in fact i gave joe nelson a circle change and maxed both of the stats on both pitches, and they did basically the same thing, not sure if it changed this year, but it doesnt seem to big a deal, for mlb 11, i just want them to add the gyroball as a pitch ANY pitcher can use, and i would be the first in line to buy the game, its that good of a pitch

Dunno if it's in game, but Vicente Padilla for sure throws an eephus in real life as of this year.
