Re: @ Knight
I sure wouldn't mind fixing my rosters by allocating unsigned and FA players to their proper teams. That's no problem. What bugs me is the player wearing the wrong team cap/uniform or that damned MLB cap. What I don't understand is SCEA not being able to do what mlb.com does when a trade is made or when a FA is signed. As soon as the deal becomes official, they simply fit the player's picture with his new team's cap and change the top of his uniform (the portion that you see on the picture). The face remains unchanged. In other words, it's the same picture but it's altered accordingly. I don't know how they do it but at least you got your player fitted with the proper team colors. Maybe the Community guys can find yet another work around scheme to solve that problem. Who knows? lolComment

Re: @ Knight
The generic or created players in the minors get hats that change when they are traded, so the technology is there. Having hats that change is a dream of mine, or else not having any hats.I sure wouldn't mind fixing my rosters by allocating unsigned and FA players to their proper teams. That's no problem. Re: @ Knight
That's because they are created in game. As I've said earlier, it is a challenge to go through and create 29 different hats for players. If you don't believe me, go and try it out.

This is a picture I edited in Photoshop, and it took an hour to get it right. Multiply that times the other 29 teams, times all the players in MLB and that's where it gets messy. Good luck holding all of those pictures on any disk.Rangers - Cowboys - Aggies - Stars - Mavericks

Re: @ Knight
I believe you. I am just curious as to how it works for the created players and not for the real players. I seriously don't know how that works. They are also able to change the uniforms when players are traded, despite the real players having unique faces. I know it is not exactly the same. So would it be possible to have a picture of the player, but the hat is created in the same way that it is for fictional players so that you wouldn't have to photo shop anything? The face is the picture and the hat is the created image by the CPU. If not, oh well. It isn't that big of a deal. It just makes it so that at most, 40 players with Yankee hats on won't be available for me to trade for or sign via FA.That's because they are created in game. Re: Those released players will not likely be in the game
I too wish there was a way to change hats, but if it is too complicated I understand. Maybe they could only use the pictures for scoreboard stuff. I dont ever see TV broadcasts show the players picture when they come to the plate (Just their name and stats). That way we wouldnt see the pictures as much and it would be more realistic at the same time. Not a huge deal I am just thinking out loud

Re: @ Knight
I would hate to be the person that would be tasked with editing all those players, it would take weeks. However, pictures are no more than a few kbs in size, and dual-layered blu-ray disks can hold 50 GB of data. There would be no problem finding room on a blu-ray for the pictures.Comment

Re: @ Knight
The Rays just confirmed the signing of Johhny D and Manny. They will be introduced at the Trop tomorrow. In the meantime, I went to mlb.com and looked up their roster. Guess what I found?I believe you. I am just curious as to how it works for the created players and not for the real players. I seriously don't know how that works. Both are already fitted with their new hat. I don't know how the folks at mlb.com do it but they sure act swiftly. The pictures are identical as the ones showing them in their previous uniforms. It goes to show you that it can be done.
Speaking of Manny, I wonder if the Rays are going to let him wear his usual tar-filled helmet? I have been watching them a lot the last 3 years and they all sport shinny helmets. Don't know if it's a team policy or what. It will be interesting to see.

Re: Those released players will not likely be in the game
In MLB 09 the show i was looking at the rosters and the free agent pool and they had darn near everybody in the game wheather they signed on before the season or not. I don't see why they can't just put everyone that has MLB service in the game. I would love to give MARK PRIOR a 2nd chance to pitch in his career for my kc royals. To me that is exciting. I just hope that the rosters this year are done better than they were done last year.Comment
