Fielders need more urgency. They take way too long in most cases. Especially when they need to rush a throw.Comment

Re: MLB 11 The Show Demo Q&A, discussion thread
I have a question about Analog Pitching.
Is there a "penalty" for not hitting the spot you aimed for?
I ask because I found in the last game I played that I can manipulate the location of the pitch without ever selecting a location of the pitch.
What I mean is that I can leave the ball marker in the middle of the zone and by starting my upward motion of the stick above or below the yellow line I can make the ball go high or low in the zone and then I can aim to the corners of the plate by angling my stick in that direction...
I think they could almost do away with the pitch location selection step for "Pure Analog" pitching...just select the pitch type and then throw it?
Does that make sense? Am I missing something here?Comment

Nem would know for sure...but that's how I do it...but if you don't move(hit) the ball marker...I believe you do indeed receive a slight penalty.I have a question about Analog Pitching.

I actually prefer it the way you described and just use the lines as my guide.

Originally posted by nmyconi dont think i ever used it in MLB 10, actually im pretty certain i never used it, because it wasn't implemented yet lol
you never used it either :P
you must be confusing it with "Normal" swing, which was X last year (and remains X this year)
power swing WAS is 10.
he asked if i anyone hit a HR with the new 'contact' in the demo, not power or normal], i said i had hit two using contact.
i then said i never [rarely] used it [power] to hit homers.Last edited by econoodle; 02-26-2011, 09:55 PM.Comment

If I get as bad as Knight it will be time to retire the controller!
The lower levels are much more forgiving with what you are doing. There maybe some slight penalties but nothing drastic. You cannot do that on the higher levels as there will be penalties with pitch confidence, location/control problems etc.“The saddest part of life is when someone who gave you your best memories becomes a memory”Comment

Hey now...respect to your elders and all thatIf I get as bad as Knight it will be time to retire the controller!

Thanks for the replies, that's about what I figured. What do you think about that idea though? Is there a need for the target going forward? I guess if it's tied to confidence and such it needs to be there. It just feels more 'organic' to me.
Having said that, I'm probably the last guy that should be commenting on this...I can barely muddle by with the old controls
Can't hit a lick with analog. Fielding is okay, and I'm kind of liking the pitching.
EDIT: One more little thing I've been thinking about: I wonder if it would be possible for SCEA to include a "Random" option for the fielding view? I know those of you that do your own fielding would probably never be able to use it because you need a standard view in order to react to the ball...BUT for those of us that manage or use AUTO fielding, it would be a cool option to allow us to see varying fielding views throughout the game.Last edited by spitoon; 02-27-2011, 02:56 AM.Comment

Come on bro, this is unnecessary. Knight's stick skills are par excellence...at least as far as hitting the "play ball" button at just the right time goesComment

How do you time your jump when you steal? Like when I hit r2 it the runner takes off whenever.Comment

Oh.....now YOU'RE getting in on the action, huh?
I challenge you to a Manage only Mode game(it'll have to wait 'til they put in two player mode next year though!)
I guess we'll see how far up the ladder my boys at work...er...I mean I can get on Challenge of the Week.

(no controversy fellow CD'ers....I will not employ help in my bid to buy you guys dinner in October) :o

Re: MLB 11 The Show Demo Q&A, discussion thread
Back in July, Russell_SCEA had asked for help from the community to recommend some stadium specific music and sounds to be added to the game.
My question is, was the information provided by the community used in this years game? I know there are some stadium specific sounds in the game but were more added this year? Music too or other situational sounds?
thanks!Comment
