Re: MLB 11 The Show - "The Little Things"

Texeira slid in to first base to get out ON DEFENSE.

Ball tips off fielders glove and rolls in to outfield

Pitched ball bounces off catcher toward pitcher allowing runner to advance

Triple play..guy tags player running to 3rd and then completes routine double play..animation is great

unbelievable plays in the outfield..although a few too many crazy dive attempts. One missed dive resulted in in the park homer

hit variety is amazing this year

show (pitch) tracker is great when it works properly

stadiums are beautiful..amazing how they improved this in one year

    ESPN ticker is also fantastic!

rain effects are great too..saw entire dirt get wet and full line degredation...except outfield lines which I hope they fix for next year

Just a few things..too many to note

I know it was in before, but when they reference the Sandman coming in and do Rivera's entrence at Yankee Stadium it is pretty cool, and I am not a Yanks fan.

Also, it won't let me quote this, but to the Giants fan upset about the sleeve patches on page 7, the way the game has it is correct. The Giants changed what patches go on what jersey's for this season.

So do you get ever more specific commentary if you play at Dodger Stadium that day? I may have to play that game in my Nats franchise (LA vs STL).

They use to mention how he played there, they would zoom in on his retired number and mention him, and what not.

the foul line is chalk on the infield dirt, but is painted on the outfield grass

so it makes sense that the chalk would get messed up by rain, but it would be less likely to wash the paint off the grass

IMO this was done intentionally, and is even more realistic

I have to agree with this.

Re: MLB 11 The Show - "The Little Things"

Watching SF @ CIN. Just saw three Little Things in one AB.

Posey comes up to bat. As he steps into the box, he kicks up dirt around the chalk in front of him and the dirt covers it dynamically. I know this was in before but this is the first time I've noticed it.

Posey hit a weak grounder that went about halfway up the third-base line, literally straddling it. By the time Rolen got to the ball, Posey was practically at the base, so he used his glove to swipe it foul. Matt V. even commented on this.

Next pitch, Posey hits a foul ball at the umpire that breaks his bat in half. He stands there looking dumb-founded at what he's holding. 'Twas funny.

Great touch in franchise mode - in game trade announcements.

In game 5 of my pre-OSMinors franchise (just to have the feeling that these games mean something) I decided trying to trade for a back end of rotation pitcher like the real Yankees would. I avoided trading Ivan Nova, and instead went with 2 younger pitching prospects, offering them to the White Sox for Mark Buehrle. I played this game thinking that it would take at least another day for the Sox to respond, but in like the 4th inning of the game, Vasgersian says, "We have breaking trade news for you right here, as you see the Yankees have been busy." They showed the details of the trade on the screen, and not expecting this, I was stunned. I could almost hear Suzyn Waldman on WCBS going "Oh my gooodness graaaacious, MARK BUEHRLE is on the Jumbotron, and he is going to be a NEW YURK YANKEE! Oh, my....!!!"

There were only two issues with this. 1. It was still a little too easy to trade for Buehrle, even though it was harder to find A prospects. 2. Immediately after this, Mark Buehrle miraculously apparated into the right field pen with his perfectly made virtual jersey ready to pitch as needed... ya right.

                    "Yer a wizard, Mark."

If he was nearby, I can see Buehrle actually making it there to play, with a jersey. It's not like they have to sew Buehrle on the back of that jersey…

He walks toward 3rd and when he is almost there, makes a break for the bag and took the runner by surprise... but didn't get him.

It surprise me even because I was watching and didn't notice Inge had the ball.

                        Was cool!

I apologize in advance if this isn't the place for questions.... However, where you in franchise when this happened? If so, did the pitcher come back in the game? If not, was he injured for an extended amount of time once the game ended?
