Re: MLB 11 The Show: "The Little Things" Thread

Cool thing playing a exibition game at SD and i looked at the score board and games on the east coast were about finished as games on the west coast were starting.

Matt also talked about the Padres camo uniforms.

They now track how fast the 'hit' was off of your bat. I got tracked at 100mph.

Re: MLB 11 The Show - "The Little Things"

A deep fly ball was hit to deep right field and my right fielder missed the catch by about 2 gloves and falls flat on his face.

They way his momentum made him fall was like when someone runs to fast and they kinda trip over there own feet. Never seen this animation in last years game was sweet

I was playing a spring training game in franchise and after a play they zoomed in on players and talked about some fan running on the field.

Re: MLB 11 The Show - "The Little Things"

-I haven't read through this thread (because I don't want to ruin the "little things" for me...I want to experience them instead of reading them)

...but I had something that was pretty darn cool. Ubaldo Jimenez was bunting on the first strike to try and sacrifice the runner from 1st to 2nd.....on the 2nd pitch of the at-bat he "showed bunt" but "pulled-back" for a bloop hit over the first baseman's head (who was charging in, preparing for the bunt).

            Wow- such a cool play!!!!!!

More cool commentary, this time from Dave Campbell:

Chris Volstad pitching to Ryan Zimmerman. Campbell: "These two guys have taken similar paths to the big leagues - both were first round picks in '05"

Re: MLB 11 The Show - "The Little Things"

I made a horrible attempt to hit a big, slow, curve that was WAY outside and low, and Matt V says, "Not sure, but he may have been wearing a blindfold on that one." I was laughing so hard I had to pause it.

I just had this happen to me. Ump called it a homerun and has the same sequence you mentioned and they came out and called it foul. Luckily for me, I was pitching and got the good side of the call.

saw something tonight that I have never noticed in past games, Arod walking up to the plate. Got into the batters box and put down his bat, bent down on one knee and was tying his shoe/checking his shin guard. either way it was awesome

The ticker is awesome, now it gives league leaders as well as scores.

Love how the stadium's out of town scoreboards change throughout a game showing updated scores. I've only played exhibition games thus far but I'm sure they do the same during season/franchise modes as well....is that right?? Or do the same set of scores/games always appear in each respective ballpark during each game played there (hope that made sense, it's late for me and lack of sleep, lol).

They're competely accurate to the season/franchise modes and respective to the actual time zones. Even if you're playing a game in, say, Chicago or KC, it would be unlikely you would see the end of a game played in Cali, unless your game went to extra innings.

                              Awesome commentary from Eric Karros:

I was playing an online game against the Phillies with Roy Halladay pitching and he threw a pitch along the outside corner that got called a ball.

Karros: "Halladay probably would have gotten that call, but I guess he's just on the cover of the wrong game!"

                              hahahahaha

Related question - during Franchise games, does the ticker report scores from your franchise, or is it always real-world scores? Would love to see the ticker reflect the scores of other teams in my franchise when I'm in the middle of a pennant race.
