Add me to the list of those who see it too much.

It really needs to be toned down AND the pitcher needs to leave the game every once in a while. I've yet to see a pitcher actually leave a game for getting hit.

It happens A LOT, and it was a big complaint of mine in MLB10.

Turning Solid Hits down helps. I have it at 3, and have had it at 2.

At 5 or higher, everything is just too fast off the bat ... so you tag the pitcher consistently.

May be a coincidence but tonight I had Gio Gonzalez pitching well through 3 inn, he gets hit by a ball, gimps around, then pitches 2 balls to the next batter, and has to leave the game due to injury. There was no mention of the batted ball that hit him, but I was forced to replace him. Probably a coincidence, but it happened.

Hey I'm all for pitchers getting hit my line drives, but the annoying part of it to me is when they RECOVER and throw you out. Extremely unrealistic in most of the cases.

I hit the pitcher 2 times in 3 batters faced tonight and he never left with an injury

Yeah, I'm drilling one off the pitcher at least once a game on average. Seems a bit much.

Other than happening with too much frequency, it is a really cool effect though. Seems like more carom variety off the pitcher this year.

BCruise and I were playing Co-Op a couple of nights ago, and a Cardinals player drilled Zambrano in the face with a come-backer(and I mean right in the face) He collapsed to the ground, and rolled around. Then he gets up, and finishes the game.....interesting to say the least.

I am not seeing it enough to make me hate it, but it is a bit overdone.

Hmmmm, maybe addressed in a future patch. Haven't seen it yet but have only played the game maybe 3 times since I bought it.

I agree that it happens way too much. The animation for checking on the pitcher is definitely a plus over last year. Also, I've seen 1 instance (out of maybe 10 of these scenarios) where the pitcher actually left the game (better than last year where they NEVER, literally NEVER, left the game after getting blasted).

I also agree with whoever posted earlier saying that what we need is some "avoidance animations" from the pitchers. They do not react at all to balls coming at them, that is definitely what is causing the excessive number of hits on the pitcher. Definitely a bit of an oversight on Sony's part when they implemented the feature of balls actually hitting players.

After thinking it over I've decided I'll just switch teams and pull the guy out if one of two things happen...

                        1. He gets hit in the head, or any body part that causes him to flop around on the ground making spirals in the dirt.

                        2. He gets hit in the throwing arm.

It's up for debate when and if a shot to the leg should cause serious injury.

Quit hitting pitches back up the middle. Problem solved. The bottom line is if real hitters keep hitting them back up the middle all the time there would be a lot more pitchers going down. If you are the one hitting them back up the middle you need to go to the next level, if you are the one getting hit you need to go down a level. The problem is timing.

The thought of raising the difficulty because pitchers are too stupid to get the heck out of the way seems kind of ridiculous to me.

Was that a serious post scott?

Anyways, this doesn't happen to often, but when it does the pitcher should be injured and leave the game or at least suffer some sort attribute losses.

I keep hearing in the commentary injury to the throwing leg or arm yet they can still throw the same heat as before.
