Changed camera and WOW!
Hey guys, I just started a fantasy draft franchise in The Show on HOF difficulty (pitching and hitting). Before I started I switched from the "Catcher" view to the "Catcher 2" view because I felt I was seeing the strike zone better in this view. Wow! What a difference in my hitting! So far my record is 5-0, but the thing that has made the most difference is that I am seeing an average of 130 pitches from the computer. I am 6th in the leauge in total walks and I am working the the count with every hitter (1-9). I know it's been talked about before but I just wanted to emphasize how much changing my camera by the slightest bit changed my game. If you are struggling with hitting (like I was) try changing the camera before changing the difficulty; It has done wonders for me. Just wanted to share and hopefully help those who are struggling with hitting. Good luck!BOSTON BRUINS

Analog with guess pitch off, sorry I forgot to mention that. I'm not saying that the "Catcher 2" view will work for everyone, but I am saying that finding the right view for you makes all the difference.BOSTON BRUINS

Re: Changed camera and WOW!
I did something similar...switched to "catcher 7" and am seeing the ball a lot better. it is more zoomed in and more of an eye level plane with the pitcher's release. IMO it is a view that is as close as can be to real life hitting. the tradeoff is that any semi-tall player's head is cut off by the top of the screen.
I am swinging "all-star" pure analog at the moment fwiwComment

Re: Changed camera and WOW!
I too changed the view. Started at catcher 2. Lowered the view so the strikezone framed the pitcher (making it easier to gauge low pitches) and zoomed in.
Like it MUCH better.Last edited by Bat; 04-18-2011, 11:36 AM.Mariners Seahawks Sonics UW Sounders

Re: Changed camera and WOW!
I was tempted to change camera angles a few times but ultimately I decided to just stick it out with the default catcher view. I did however go into the batting practice mode and have really found the groove again in hitting this year.
I think I'm just so used to the catcher view after all these years that I couldn't be bothered to alter anything. Good to see people are having success with this though.Comment

Re: Changed camera and WOW!
i use wide and, have trouble holding back on balls outside the zone on the sides. I mean my eyes can clearly SEE that the ball is going away or toward me but for whatever reason i swing none the less. i think if i have time tomorrow i will go through and see what i can find if there is anything that i might like.
I remember playing games like rbi and sega's world series baseball on the Genesis and having NO problem hitting with out any hitting aids at all. i wonder if there is a "overhead" shot i can use to hit with lol.. or a really close up shot that is just a small area around the strike zone...
i dont know.. i just get really annoyed with myself when i swing clearly at a ball out of the zone up or in or outside. that is where a great deal of my strike outs come from using guess pitch.
i use 1/6, and always choose down center, 4sfb."Baseball is life, without Baseball life itself ceases to exist." - Ken SpragueComment
