Are you talking about that blue fielding circle? Can you really get rid of that?

Yes, it's under options (I forget where). I just have the baseball icon on and that's it.

I'm playing a short season right now, and I was wondering why there was still an amateur player draft...

So is Season Mode just sort of like a "light" Franchise Mode??? Without the minors, banking, stadium upgrades, etc???

If so... I was never really into all the extra Franchise Mode stuff.

Did you know you can offer any contract to a minor leaguer with less than 6 years of experience as long as they have no MLB service time?

Did you know you can have a max of 10 draft picks?

Did you know a player that isn't offered arbitration or declines arbitration will enter free agency?

yep, that's basically it. I use franchise mode to sim mostly or coach/manage.

Season mode is just your 40 man roster, you'll have the draft sometime and an offseason with the coaches & players. Basically just doesn't include the extras like goals, minor leagues, and the money side of things. Based on how you do your "owner" will increase or decrease your budget too.

Did you know all that? lol

DYK that if youre contemplating laying down a bunt you can push R3 to get a view from the batters eyes (pitcher doesnt pitch) and move the stick to check the lines and if the defense is playing for you to drop one down!

Did you know that creating a custom behind the plate hitting camera that is offset slightly to the inside, as well as tilted down and raised up to look down on the ball, will give you a realistic view and make reading pitches a bit easier?

                      Testimony here:

A nice little adjustment: hitting camera offset to the inside...

Did you know players leave footprints on the dirt in the infield? In a boring blowout, you can try playing tic-tac-toe on the field with the players in the opposing team.

Wow, incredible information right there. I'm going to start up an extremely short length, fantasy draft season mode.

I don't even play the minor league games, don't do much roster management except when absolutely necessary, and don't fiddle with the owner stuff like prices, stadium, transportation, etc. I do like to have that option so I'll keep playing my Reds franchise, but for something fun to do on the side... sounds like season mode is the way to go.

Did You Know... if you have music playing (via Music Mode), and you're in the process of saving a replay, the music will be recorded too.

Whenever I save replays nowadays, I do this. Instead of just hearing the crack of the bat, crowd, and other sound effects. I like a good soundtrack.

Did you know, by pressing L2 while you are on base in RTTS, you can switch to the view of the broadcasting booth to better see all the actions in the field?

(I realized L2 switches views right before the ball is in play, so this makes it easier to decide what to do with the runner... Useful if you are having trouble deciding when to advance with a line drive or fly ball... cannot see this very well from the runner's view.)
