    Veteran/Veteran for me too.

I did All-Star until this year. Just got too frustrating.

      Veteran/All-Star

The main thing with me when I started was knocking the pitch speed down a few ticks and customizing my batting view.

I don't like consistently getting no hit, like I did the 4 games I had on All star.
        Hoosiers
        Pacers
        Phillies
        Ravens

        73 - 72

          All-Star (pitching/batting/fielding)

It feels the most balanced to be honest. If I play on Legend or Hall of Fame I feel way abused by the CPU and the final score is usually like 17-3 (if I get lucky scoring 3).

I also use Perfect V1 sliders with All-Star so I don't know if that changes anything to drastic.

All-Star/All-Star. Use Analog for Fielding/Batting/Pitching. Use rafaelnite's analog sliders.

all star is more realistic in my opinion as far as online gaming....

                          HOF Pitching and Hitting.

I'm pretty much default across the board, minus a downclick to CPU Timing, Strike Frequency, and Consistency.

I also boosted errors and steal frequency.

This reminds me, they added a difficulty recently. I forgot if it was in 09 or 10 but the series went from having 4 to 5 difficulties and they all got moved up in the process. It used to be Rookie--Veteran--All Star-- Legend. IIRC the last game with this was MLB 08, and in MLB 08 All Star setting was still pretty easy. Then IIRC in MLB 09 they introduced Hall of Fame difficulty and it went like this: Rookie---Veteran---All Star---Legend---Hall of Fame.

When that happened All Star became their proposed "Normal" difficulty mode but it became pretty difficult in the process. And Veteran mode felt more like the old All Star mode. According to San Diego Studio it goes like this :Rookie (very easy); Veteran (easy); All Star (normal); Legend (hard); Hall of Fame (very hard).

                            Correct me if I'm wrong.

I played on Vet/Vet for a couple of months, then moved pitching up to AS because I'm a better pitcher than hitter (that's always been the case in baseball video games). Played maybe another month like that, and then moved batting up to AS - was tired of not getting walks - the pitchers hammer the strike zone pretty hard on veteran & below. I do have batting sliders bumped up in my favor, but after now a few weeks, I'm about ready to start moving them down.

And yes, you definitely need to adjust the sliders for fielding & and so on - fielding speed & throw speed in particular are way too high. Go over to the sliders sub-forum and check it out. I've had good luck using a slightly modified version of Bobhead's sliders.

It was actually Rookie<Veteran<All-Star<Hall of Fame. Legend mode (the hardest one) was introduced in 09. I agree with what you're saying that the modes got harder. In 07, I still was a beast on Hall of Fame mode. Then in 09, Veteran level was more challenging, but fun anyway. I play on All-Star in 11, and I'm struggling with my offense.
