They need to add better detailed scouting reports (using 20-80 scale). Also, the detailed reports should reflect your scouting department's ability. For example:
    • Jason Berry (made up name)--Switch Hitting Catcher
    Scout A (Has a B rating)

    Raw Power:30
    Fielding Ability: 50
    Etc.

Scout B (Has a below average rating, C-)
    Raw Power: 50
    Fielding ability: 40
    Etc.

This would force me to hire the best scouting staff available. As it is, the better the scout, the more people he can scout at one time. There needs to be an incentive. I can just imagine someone being cheap with their scouting department and starts reaching for prospects because of bad reports.

Improvement to the fielding animations to fix the delays that were in mlb 11 the show.

Im hoping for but i doubt the commentary will have any drastic improvement. In mlb 11 the show i either play with commentary off or just leave only the play by play guy on. The other two commentators just hurt the presentation.

Re: What are u looking for in MLB the show 12 ?

Default attributes should reflect how a player actually plays in game. With the way that things currently are, there is too much of a difference in the base attributes that SCEA uses compared to the way that a player actually plays when being human controlled. Just because you have chosen a certain base system for each attribute, it does not mean that you have to stick with it. This is one thing that destroyed many EA sports titles.

Attributes need to play a much larger role in simulation stats. Simulation results are far too random for way too many players at every level (A, AA, AAA and MLB).

Batters should be able to move in the box.

The ability to make solid contact more than an inch or two out of the strike zone is a must. Allowing players to move in the box would help with this.

The top of the strike zone needs to be lowered. It is ridiculously high.

Fielders move way too quickly and are way too agile. The speed that they run at is also an issue, but the main issue is their ability to accelerate quickly and their extreme agility. This especially applies to infielders and catchers. Lowering the fielder speed slider does not help much at all. Even if it did, you shouldn't have to move a slider to correct something like this.

Something that needs completely revamped is the way that baserunners get leadoffs and the way that the fielders can break on a pickoff play while the runner is left standing flat-footed.

The way that the catcher clutches before throwing the ball back to the pitcher is completely nonsensical. If this happened once every few games, it would make sense and could be viewed as a nice little addition.

I'm sure that I could think of many more things/issues, but these are some that really stand out and need to be tweaked/corrected.

I'm really looking foward to a huge overhaul in both comentary and presentation. I think we can all agree that the gameplay is where it should be. However the commentary and presentation aspect of this game is slacking. The commentary team has no excitement. Matt Vasgergian has so much excitement and energy when he commentates for FOX Sports but when he's recording for the show he just says "Hit in the air to Left Field, and It's outta Here!" But when he called a walk-off homerun for FOX he yells "OR HE'LL JUST SEND EVERYBODY HOME!!!!" He should be bringing that to The Show. Then the presentation aspect has taken some steps in the right direction when that do the "Home vs. Away" and "LHP vs. RHP" splits. But after that there really isn't a whole lot. What really bugs me is when I hit a homerun but it isnt a no-doubter where I have to run the bases, I have my player round first base because I don't know if it is a homerun or not, Then it's a homerun and there is an animation where it shows my player rounding first base and shaking hands with the first base coach. I don't know what to call this but I really want this to be fixed. Along with the commentary.

This would be fantastic, especially if they could put in splits.

Something else that major websites (MLB.com, ESPN, Yahoo, etc.) still don't do is they don't have a filter. They have sortable stats, but you can't narrow something down to... say... how a player does at home, against righties, batting sixth, with runners in scoring position, in a 2-1 count, at night, on turf... all together. You can only pick one of them, but not choose as many filters as you'd like.

It would be great if SCEA could get on top of these splits to this level!

The Gameplay isn't perfect, but it's pretty awesome. I would focus on PRESENTATION!! and ATMOSPHERE!! By atmosphere, I mean there should be a BIG difference between playing a game in May between two struggling franchises.....and two teams in a late season game with playoff implications.

Call me crazy, I like this idea, but wouldn't we all then just immediately hire the best scouting staff available right off the "bat" ?

Well for one....money. Perhaps he would be asking such a large amount that you would get priced out as a team with a smaller staff budget(or tie it into the team payroll)...
Then there could also be some sort of detriment built in for each guy, like there is for scouts now. He may be rock solid at scouting pitchers, but his ability to find position players that pan out is sketchy.(and variations on this)
Finally, you could just have some predisposed "I don't want to work for you or organization" built into the scouts.

I'm sure there are plenty of ways to make it interesting.

Do you think that could be done for players too? Giving them even more "personality" other than his usual, comparable ratings?

Great save knight. Of course, budgets will need to be tighter which hopefully reflects actual markets. If you controlled the A's, would you want to commit top dollar on your scouting department? Perhaps as you wouldn't be able to sign big time free agents so you need to focus on building from within. Or what if you want to be economical and hire "average" scouts in order to free up some capital and decide to pursue that upcomming top of the rotation starter? If budgets are tighter, small market teams will definitely have to evaluate where to invest their money.

Conversly, if you are the Yankees, you may not have to commit as much resources to scouting as you can afford anyone you wish. Fact is, scouting is huge in baseball, perhaps more than any other sport, because it takes years for players to develop. Even 1st rounders take 3-5 years to make the MLB squad.

All I want is that come draft time, I want to rely on my scouts to help bring my team around. If I am questioning my scouts' evaluation of a prospect, SCEA did their job.

I want to see rain delays, better dynamic weather (felt like I saw the SAME sky's for every game, also I dislike how the only way I saw the sky change is by the 8th inning or if I score 10 runs in an inning.I also want to see double headers and postponed games in case of rain delays. I want to see my first name added to the RTTS audio (Johan, like seriously there's a few baseball players with that first name ) as well as fixes for RTTS since I had a HARD time staying in the Major's for more than 2 months because I didn't enough play time for my goals. I want new commentary as well
Why did I move here? I guess it was the weather.

Post game pies in the face on walk offs. Maybe just a cut scene of a player doing a mock interview and someone comes over and hits him with a pie.

Pitchers who show emotion screaming into their gloves as they walk off after the final out of an inning.

Down the stretch, during games, show a particular leader of a category, combine with commentary like "I wonder if he will hold on to win the batting title."
"Undaunted, I knew the game was mine to win. Just like in life, ALL of my successes depend on me. I'm the man who has the ball, I'm the man who can throw it faster than heck. So that is why I am better than everyone in the world."
