Re: CES Show questions and or suggestions for me to ask
Can you confirm one thing about pulse pitching?
It looks like you are unable to add/subtract speed/control from your pitches.
For example, can I take 10 miles off my change-up, on an 0-2 pitch, making it very inaccurate. Then, on 2-0, can I take only 7 miles off the change-up; a very accurate, 'get me over' changeup for a strike?Originally posted by banned memberMy [RTTS] goals are to improve my bunting and drag bunting. Re: CES Show questions and or suggestions for me to ask
I have been adding my questions to the CD feedback threads, but cannot hurt to ask here as well.
If you actually get to play the Vita version, how does the game (especially hitting) feels on 30 FPS instead of 60 FPS? How about using the zone analog on Vita? I'm concerned that toggling both the L and R sticks kinda makes your holding unstable, and it might be actually very hard to aim and swing at the same time. How do you feel there?
Also, you mentioned a revised Fast Play mode is the only way to play on Vita. What aspects of the presentation are cut? Do you have an option of at least lengthening the wait time between pitches (because I think it can be important to improve your plate discipline against CPU...)?
Thank you!
You have no option. You still get like foul ball cutscenes but after an out the next batter is in the batters box.Comment

Re: CES Show questions and or suggestions for me to ask
The only question I care to know is, will we be able to watch our team play in Road to the Show when we are not playing. For example, I want to play as a starting pitcher but I'd like the option to watch the game (or just the result plays) of my team in games in which I am not playing.Comment

Re: CES Show questions and or suggestions for me to ask
Can we have pitchers pinch hit or pinch run for another pitcher without having to have that substituted pitcher pitch the next inning? Well that sounds confusing.
Example: Let's say it's in the 12th inning and Jason Motte is coming up to bat. I really do not want Jason Motte to hit because we have the winning run on 2nd. I need to pinch hit for him, but I have used all of my bench players, so I must use a better hitting pitcher. I bring in Adam Wainwright because he can hit. The man grounds out ending the inning with the game still tied.
In 11 the Show: Since Adam Wainwright is considered a pitcher instead of a pinch hitter, he now goes into the game and is forced to pitch to at least one batter.
Was it fixed so that he is considered a pinch hitter and is able to be taken out and not forced to pitch to at least one batter?Comment

To answer your first question, the Vita version is not as far along as the console version and it is attached with a short cable so I can't hold it like I normally would. I played 6 innings and I didn't notice anything that concerns me about being able to hit or anything. The only real difference play control wise is have 2 shoulder buttons so some things are a little different. Graphics look good.

Now that new swing type you mentioned sounds very interesting...Comment

Re: CES Show questions and or suggestions for me to ask
How bout this:
Can I throw start a batter off with a 92mph fastball with a very slow, small pulse meter. I am trying to throw a first pitch strike.
Then, on 0-2, can I try to finish him off with a 95mph fastball with a very fast, large pulse meter? A 'waste pitch' if you will.Originally posted by banned memberMy [RTTS] goals are to improve my bunting and drag bunting. You stupid !@#$, I'm almost leading the league in bombs; !@#$ you!Comment

Re: CES Show questions and or suggestions for me to ask
Good way to sum it up. My example is pretty weird.
How bout this:
Can I throw start a batter off with a 92mph fastball with a very slow, small pulse meter. I am trying to throw a first pitch strike.
Then, on 0-2, can I try to finish him off with a 95mph fastball with a very fast, large pulse meter? A 'waste pitch' if you will.
I wonder how you do this with pulse pitching.Comment

Re: CES Show questions and or suggestions for me to ask
One more question please
Do the pitchers still pump their fists in sistuations where they really should not be doing it because they are showing up the batter. Like for example will Roy Halladay pump his fist after striking out a batter in the first inning to get out of the inning? Infact it seems that the pitchers pump their fists afrter every strikeout in MLB 11 The Show.
I really hate when this happends.
I don't mind seeing a pitcher pump his fist if the sistuation calls for it. Like for example the last out of the game or maybe getting out of a big jam late in the game.
Thanks again for getting us all this great info!Last edited by tnixen; 01-12-2012, 10:53 AM.Comment

Re: CES Show questions and or suggestions for me to ask
If I didn't get to your question yet, it most likely means I do not have an answer for you. If I somehow don't answer your question in my next update, please re quote yourself thanks. I plan on getting to Sony's booth earlier to check out every game they have there too.Comment

Re: CES Show questions and or suggestions for me to ask
I know what I'm looking for out of this... indiv hitter vs pitcher history, team vs team stats, all the small very important breakdown type stats that make being a manager more fun due to the depth..."Baseball is life, without Baseball life itself ceases to exist." - Ken SpragueComment

Re: CES Show questions and or suggestions for me to ask
1) Will players' home run and stolen base totals be reflected after those events? That seemed to disappear in '11.
2) Will the NL standings be reflected by flags above the Wrigley Field scoreboard? Small thing, but would be cool. At least team flags being present, not necessarily live standings would be a nice addition.
Thanks Freezetime!
"David Ortiz's 15th home run of the season."
I think that was left off in '11, but was on previous versions. Thanks again.Comment

Re: CES Show questions and or suggestions for me to ask
Has that chain link sound been removed when a ball hits the net behide home plate?
This would make a lot of guys happy if that sound was removed or replaced with a more appropriate sound.
Like a sound for a nylon net would be more appropriate because that what the net behide home plate are.
Can you ask Russell about this please.
