    Re: 2012 Franchise Progress Thread

I am playing the inter-league part of my Braves 2012 schedule. All I am going to say is those "Damn Yanks". I can not beat them. I was swept in the ATL. The Starters were CC, Kuroda and Nova. CC & Kuroda went the distance and beat. Nova pitched 8 1/3 and beat me.

The following week has come and now I'm up in the Bronx. Game 1: I got dominated by Kuroda again. Game 2: I finally got to Nova for 4 runs, but their offense overpowered me 6-4. Russell Martin a key 3R HR. My record is a miserable 25-44. Oh well, "Hang we em"....

      Re: 2012 Franchise Progress Thread

This was my favorite thread last summer, but it's been awhile since I checked in.

I guess I'm officially done with MLB 12. Haven't played since before Christmas. After coming up short to the Yankees in the World Series in 2012, I was off to a 5-0 start in 2013. Since Amazon is only giving a quarter for the game, I'm going to hang onto it. So maybe I'll pick this dynasty back up if MLB 13 fails to impress (yeah, there's a less than 1 percent chance of that happening).

It's going to be weird firing up MLB 13 and not having Chipper ... or Jed Lowrie. I'd say I'd trade for him again, but I don't think I'll have to with Simmons on board now.

        QUICK QUESTION:

What shall I do, leave the pitcher in or substitute him with a pinch hitter?

I'm in the 7th inning, 2 Outs, with my pitcher (Roy Oswald, ace of my stuff) hitting. He is having a great day, just allowing in 2 hits, no ERAs in 6 innings and has still a good amount of energy left. Got runners on 1st and 2nd, score is 3:0 for my team. Actually Oswald has 2 hits himself but that kind of makes a 3rd hit even feel more unlikely for me, lol. I have only medicore hitters on the bench. Relievers are all fit and I'm somewhat confident in my bullpen.

I would feel like sticking with Oswald, but I'm really not sure what to do... help?

I would just keep him in the game.

            Re: 2012 Franchise Progress Thread

With 24 games left in the my franchise on MLB 10 (Yes, I'm in the same franchise I started when the game was first released; that's dedication, holmes) I find myself back 5 games in the division with the Louisville Bats (Yes, I also have played every pitch, every game of the whole season with AAA). We do lead the wild card by 2 games. Exact rosters as the moves have been made in real life. I've kept up with number changes, rating changes, and all roster changes with Louisville since 2010, and here my team stands, with 24 games left, trying to claw our way up in the division to try to knock of Columbus. Honestly, I just REALLY REALLY hope to make playoffs. I've put in two years in to this franchise, and I hope we don't blow it now.

BTW, I have MLB 12 (I go to the vault every night or so and download the latest roster) and after this season is over, I will be moving up to MLB 12. Haven't decided yet if I will stay with Louisville or move up to Cincinnati, but I'm going to wait and save that decision for when this franchise is over. If I feel like I have unfinished business with Louisville, I'll stick around. If we make it deep in to the playoffs and I feel like I deserve a promotion, I'll move up.

Next season, when I do move up to MLB 12, regardless of if I stay in AAA or move up, I'm considering hosting a dynasty/franchise thread on this site that way I can report back to anyone interested.

              Re: 2012 Franchise Progress Thread

After a great win last night in 10 innings over our hated boys from Columbus, we're now only 4 games back in the division Last night's win was number 70 on the season.

After dropping four straight, we're now on a 3 game winning streak. As we know, in THE SHOW, and real life baseball, it's a streaky sport. As of right now, I really think I have a lineup that can do some damage, as long as they hit in clutch situations, which is easier said than done for my squad on the SHOW. We have the pitching depth, and we're playing the best defense we've played all year. If we can score 3 runs a game, we'll make the playoffs, for sure. If we struggle to hit with runners in scoring position, we'll be in danger of failing to make the playoffs after the leading the division for the first two months of the season.

Louisville does it! We pull off the 3 game sweep, on the road, against the number one team in the division, Columbus. It took an 8 inning, one run pitching performance by Pedro Villarreal, but we'll take it. JJ Hoover picked up the easy save. Final score in Columbus, 3-1. We are back 3 games in the division, but hold a 2.5 game lead in the Wildcard. Upcoming we have a 4 game series with a different division leader in the Chiefs. 21 games left. THIS GAME OWNS MY SOUL!!

As we all very well now by now the Astros will be the worst team on the game so it will be tough to have any success so I am going to do what they do in real life and rebuild. I didn't like the thought of rebuilding on MLB 12 but with the new additions to scouting and training I think it will be effective.
I know this is the MLB 12 franchise thread but I have been excited for the new game for a while. This will also be the first time I am going to download the OSFM rosters. So I have a question, When exactly does the OSFM roster come out? If it comes out at the beginning of the regular season that is going to be a very long wait but so far i've heard its worth the wait.
They are worth the wait. I think they usually are out at the end of spring training, and maybe a week or two in to the season. Just depends on how many people KNIGHT has helping him and how fast they work. It's best not to rush them, and just sit back and wait it out to start your franchise with the 'Stros.

I'm 61-63 on the season. The Rockies are in town for a 4-game series; they won the first two games by a combined 20-6. I won the third game 4-3 and should finish the series up today.

I am headed out-of-town this week for work, so I hope to get 7-10 games in during that time.

I'll be picking up MLB 13 but am still going to finish out all 162 games in this season.
Yeah so the 7-10 games I thought I'd play while out of town turned out to be 2 (had way too much work to do), but the good news is that I did win both games, so I'm back to .500 at 63-63.

12 games behind Atlanta for the NL East title and 9.5 games behind Miami for the Wild Care. So, the postseason is likely not going to happen but I still have a lot to play for (finish over .500 for the season, David Wright is competing for the batting crown and Mike Pelfrey is in the Cy Young race), and can potentially play spoiler to the Braves and Marlins.

5 straight wins ties, what I believe to be, the 2nd (maybe 3rd) longest winning streak of the season for my Louisville Bats!

In tonight's game, Miguel Olivo, and Jack Hananhan had one RBI a piece and that is all we would need as Sean Gallagher picked up win #11 on the season for himself, and pitched 8 innings of shutout baseball.
With the win, and Columbus beating the Yankees (AAA) , I'm still three games out. However, Buffalo, who is 2nd in the wild card, lost. So with 20 games remaining, I am back 3 games in the division, but up three games in the wild card.

By the way, after years of following franchise/dynasty reports, along with years of telling my friends and family about my SHOW franchise, I really think I'm nearing going public for the first time in my own franchise thread in the dynasty HQ section, next season. It'd be full of write ups, and I'd like to add pictures and highlights from each game. Seriously thinking about it.
