    Re: 2012 Franchise Progress Thread

I'm 2-11 with the Astros, just got swept in a 4 game series by the Nationals. Signed J.D. Drew for some power and to bring a little bit of veteran to my club. Jed Lowrie went down the 2nd game and was out 2-3 weeks. I'm pitching on Hall Of Fame and have allowed the lowest amount of runs. Hitting is on All-Star (cause the Astros do suck) and average 2 runs a game. I've accepted how bad my Stros are and it's really terrible how bad they are. It's going to be a looooong season for me.

The "problem" with this one is the fact that there are SO many stars at like 20, 21, 22 haha. It's almost unfair, especially if you do a fantasy draft. I mean, I love having a team mainly comprised of young stars, but I prefer them to be the real deal not created players (even though they are real haha)

Just finished the AS Game! Go the AL the win 3-1...PRince Fielder was MVP with a 2 run single. I threw up a couple of vids from my franchise in the stickied vide/pic thread. Now that I got a flash drive Ill be uploading pictures and videos of plays a lot more now! Here the man himself manning SS (unfortunately went 0-2 lol)

I went 2-1 tonight with the Mets. I'm currently 6-11 now. Johan Santana is up to 3-1 and Jason Bay and Ike Davis are currently leading my offense. I'm thrilled to say I have drawn 5 BBs in the last 3 games. That's like a record for me.

I have switched to fast forwarding pitching, and while I feel a little helpless once I click, it's wonderful. I can really take my time at the plate and make sure I maintain professional at bats.

I haven't done too much looking around the league yet, but it's still early.

              Re: 2012 Franchise Progress Thread

Just started the second month on my Braves chise.

The record so far is well lets not talk about it.(12-18)

The most shocking thing stat wise has been the crazy resurgence of Chipper. He just destroyed everyone the first month while no one else was doing anything with the bat check it out.

              Chipper Jones: 98AB 35H .357AVG 4HR 15RBI 9BB .404OBP .551SLG

He's been my favorite player(besides A-Rod) for at least 15 years I know, great to see him racking for me, but it really scares me though what am I going to do next year! lol BTW Heyward got his first HR on the last day of the month.

                Re: 2012 Franchise Progress Thread

I just finished April, and I did so on a tear. Only focusing on hitting I can really sink my teeth into that side of the game, and I really learning a few things as regards to a proper approach.

My Mets are now 9-14, still last in the NL east but I am improving. There aren't a ton of notable things across the league as far as standings go, but the Yanks got out of the gate quickly and are 19-5.

Here are my basic hitting stats: Player/Avg/HR/RBI:

                David Wright .291/4/12
                Ike Davis .412/7/23
                Murphy .321/1/6
                Lucas Duda .260/2/8
                Jason Bay .350/2/16
                Thole .261/0/3
                Ruben Tejada .293/2/8
                Torres .213/0/4

                My starting pitchers:
                Johan Santana 3-2, 2.87
Niese (now on the 2-month DL) 2-2, 5.64
                Pelfrey 2-0, 2.67
                Dillon Gee 0-2, 4.79
                RA Dickey 0-2, 6.11
                Rich Harden (2 starts) 0-0, 6.17

My offense is really heating up, so I knocked down the human contact and timing sliders. My plan is to hold the line on these sliders until I am .500, then move up to veteran difficulty.

Just finished a 4 game sweep of the O's, now 54-42. Im .5 game back of the Tigers now with a 3 game series at home against them next...I now have Andy LaRoche at 3B, as I sent down Chisenhall. I think I'm gonna stick with him for the rest of the year rather than trading for McGehee or Adam Kennedy, we'll see the trade deadline is a week away I believe.

                  Game 1 : Jimenez 4-9 4.26 ERA vs. Scherzer 8-4 3.02 ERA
Game 2 : Tomlin 7-7 3.92 ERA vs. Livan Hernandez (acquired via trade) 10-5 2.61 ERA (dang Im suprised his stats are so good, I faced him when he was on Houston and ROCKED his 85 MPH fastball, lol)
                  Game 3 : D Lowe 8-3 3.74 ERA vs. Porcello 3-10 6.30 ERA (ouch!)

Are you guys playing every game or do you sim some of them? Because there are franchises in this thread which are pretty far into the season already.

For the most part I play every third game, bat only every 3rd game and sim the other third. Like i said, i dont strictly stick to this and if i dont feel like playing a series against the orioles ill sim it and play the entire 3 games against detroit after that...im about 95 games in and ive played about 30 and batted only in about the same amount...im on spring break lol

I don't understand why the franchise mode can't be 81 games? I want to play franchise but ALWAYS play season...which essentially progresses into a version of franchise with 81 games bc I play every game.

Cause a franchise is supposed to mimic real-life which is 162 games
